I may be misinterpreting this, but...

It's nothing like playing multiplayer on games like Halo Combat Evolved for Xbox was. It's also nothing like racing on Mario Kart or any other racing game. Those truly had static mechanics that I could actually use tactics and strategy to have fun winning or losing and there was nothing to lose if I lost.
That's what makes pvp fun, nothing to lose, maybe something to gain, but always allowing for smart strategy or mindless zerging.

Right now, I think pvp in this game even gives items durability damage right? If so, that just adds insult to injury.

Not having static mechanics are what makes it great imo....the ability to solo, small group, zerg whatever is your choice makes it great. You state that part of the reason it is worthless is that every interaction has a winner and a loser, but isn't that something that comes with the "versus" part of Player versus Player.. Also not sure how durability adds insult injusy in this case tbh..

Other games I have played have removed durability damage, and thus repair costs, for pvp since somebody is going to lose and sometimes badly and often multiple times. They don't get gold for that pvp very often to cover the costs after all.

And I don't mind having a winner and a loser, just having the loser lose things for losing is not helping encourage pvp. People are always afraid to lose stuff.
If they want me in pvp they need to remove the Tel Var Stone losses when you get killed and any other costs to losing. I would consider it then even if I suck at it. I really would like that emperor costume.

so you want cost to losing removed , but want durability damage? And as far as telvar, lol, why remove the loses? It is a pvp area designed for a risk reward atmosphere, my guess is you were not around for when you lost 80% of stones when you died to a player...it adds more excitement to the game and a reason to not want to die...

No, I want all losses removed.
The only risk to pvp should be bragging rights. That's how you make it fun because if there is no cost to losing you allow for "emergent gameplay" like zerg rushes that get to hilarious proportions against a target they really have no chance against.

I've had some side-splitting laughing fits from some of my pvp shenanigans that were all because I wasn't worried about losing anything in pvp. I've had some unintended pvp in pve that turned into a pvp hilarious mess for a half hour too.
Did you play Halo? The end level "the Maw" has an elevator you come out of just before the end race in a vehicle. I accidentally used my shotgun on the back of my brother's character's head and he wasn't happy. We reloaded the save so many times trying to be the one with the most kills of the other until we were both tired from laughing so hard.
Good times.

I love balanced pvp with no risk. It can be so fun.

SO don't pvp with risk..if you want risk free, stay out of the sewers..and tbh, you should never worry about it..it is a game..even at my most competitive moments , I understand it is game and a means to an ends for entertainment purposes.

Well, all pvp has the same risk.
I don't like losing any items or gold. It's not a worry as I can just avoid pvp, but I would like to play pvp if it gets better and didn't have the losses.

All I can say is I enjoy pvp as much as most people, meaning only while it is fun. It is only really fun when there is no risk, maybe no reward but some is good, and all parties are relatively balanced. It's more fun when physics engines apply to make for hilarious rag doll physics of bodies and explosions with realistic reactions.

Currently in ESO pvp you love tel var stones when you are killed and your gear suffers durability damage(if I remember correctly) which costs to repair or it stops providing stats after it is "broken".

How pvp in other games I have enjoyed pvp works is when you die you don't lose anything and suffer no durability damage thus no cost of repairs. In fact, other games actually tend to reward the loser at least a consolation prize of sorts so they can progress slower than the winner but still progress. ESO only recently started that with battlegrounds I believe.

well, you only lose telvar in IC so there is that, and no, you do not get durability damage, you actually are rewarded gear and gold via rewards for the worthy, which is not a new thing. I am actually questioning if you have actually pvp'd in eso or just avoid it based off speculation

It's been a while which is why I was unsure of the durability, but the tel var loss is real.

Anyway, pvp is just a gankfest since I'm always solo because of odd hours.

you do not lose telvar in anywhere but IC....normal cyrodiil you lose nothing...
