you'll need an offensive set (spinners, julianos, mother's sorrow, etc)...a bunch of magicka - 35k plus, and, a rotation that buffs, shields, heals, damages, and executes...

have to figure out a way to squeeze some light and heavy attacks in there...

I go through magicka regen pots like crazy...

I'm not really sure what's considered the best monster set for a mag sorc...i use grothdar...

mage, thief, apprentice should be good options for upping your damage...increase magical harm glyphs on your jewels...

If you don't use harness - don't use spell damage glyphs...

One sustain set + one damage or both sustain sets. Mag sorc in PvP is about sustain.

There are troll builds with 60k magicka and 700 sustain, but that requires skills and is about killing people with 25k frags...

The real question for me is - what enchants to use one lich jewellery in nocp pvp... recovery or reduction. Does anyone got any maths regarding this?

That's an oldie, try the latest one that I'm using now. Shacklebreaker + bloodthorn + 1x shadow rend. If you want max stats, go for necro/shadowrend, that's more for 1v1.

5-1-1 working around monster weights
Tri-Stat Food (for stamina)
Immovability Potions

I haven't played in pvp recently with my magsorc but I'd probably run something like 5x Spinner, 5x Necropotence, 1x max magicka monster piece.

This setup will give you massive magicka (i.e. massive shield and heals) and Spinner will give you the penetration you need in pvp.

Why Bloodthron over Amberplasm if you don't mind me asking?

I don't like the spell crit bonus (although it's slightly better now than before), bit of a nerf (50 value) for the set over time, takes a long time to farm potentially and can be debuffed via siphoner.

Bloodthorn has none of those drawbacks and its mag regen bonus off-sets amberplasm's mag recovery by quite a bit as well.

I also like to combine it with an infused weapon on back bar and a magicka absorption glyph.

Plus, I never bought SoH so farming amber was out of the question (not that I have time nowadays anyway).

Im running shackle and amber on mine, 1 choke thorn shoulder. Works well.

With all these key frags I'm gonna try scathing mage and shackle or amber.

Hi, I have a question about Ashen Grip Set. I made a 5 piece Ashen Grip Set, last week and since only set I could make. I don’t think it’s proc? I know it's 10% chance to breath fire.

However I'm just unable to see my flames, if it did proc. This is my first time using this set, it's so confusing. I mean I could see my Rapids, but never the Fire.

So my question, does long range weapon. Like fire or lighting staff, consider melee range via in game? I'm still unable to see the fire from my 5 piece ashen set, hence greatly confused. It’s also for my Bosmer, PvP Magicka Sorc.

Personally I run 5 Knight Slayer, 4 Necropotence, 2 Maw of the Infernal on my pet sorc, it's just fun to me. My build set up is...

Frags, Daedric Prey, Hardened Ward, Volatile Familiar, Twilight Tormentor, Atronach.
Surge, Mines, Healing Ward, Volatile Familiar, Twilight Tormentor, Resto Ult.

Edit: Been playing a pet sorc since beta, I just have the most fun playing one. FLY MY PRETTIES! FLYYYY!

I quit playing magsorc when they became absolutely cancerous in the game.

However my setup is 5 spinner 5 lich 2 slimecraw
5 1 1
Spell damage on jewelry
Shock front bar enchant, weapon damage back bar

And then just use resto ult back bar to never die, and overload front bar for all the utility stuff (magsorc literally doesn't even need a damage ultimate right now. They are broken.)

I kill mag sorcs all the time on all of my characters, I don't see why everyone thinks the class is OP. Yeah a skilled sorc will wreck your day, as will a skilled stamknight or magden or whatever.

Max magicka and magicka recovery seem fine for shield spamming.

Spell penetration seems insufficient for PvP, you will have a hard time killing those heavy armor builds.
