Transmutation; style?

Does the new transmutation system also give the option to change the style? Or is it only for the traits? And does this apply to set gear? Maybe monster sets too?

Only traits, and applies to all gear (even vMA/vDSA gear).

Style changing will be coming later, but we don't know any of the details yet. This is just trait changing and works for every piece of gear.

I mean my God. People have been begging for this for so long. We are finally getting the biggest piece of a Transmog/recrafting system. Be happy about it enjoy that you no longer after to farm vWGT and VMA for hours, days, weeks, months and maybe not even see the item in the wrong trait. Get the worst trait roll possible and you can change it now.

First of all, no details have been announced yet. It will probably be on crafted gear only. I for one don't mind the grind for traits, RNG is what mmo's are about. And second, for me personally when I asked for transmog this is not what I wanted. I want my motifs or other gear to have more meaning and choose what I look like, instead of being forced to purchase a costume, or deal with the crap style a best in slot gear set looks like.

Re-trait will be for all gear except jewelry, trial vMA and DSA, they did not mention monster set directly but it would be very weird if they was not included.
Crafted gear, unless its golden it would be easier to make a new item its also likely the item would be of an decent trait still.

Question is drop rate of the re-trait gems and if they can be traded.

Style change we know little of, it can either be simply change racial style. change necropotense into Ancient Orc style.
This will not solve the red weapon issue but let you look good and avoid restoration and lighing staff looking the same.
Or it can use an style items, you drop your vMA twohand sword into the item box and an level 30 nord sword in the style box.
This gives more flexibility, you could probably use the broom too
