Guy says you do realise they'll be a catch, a sly catch.

    8 tempers per retrait?

Maybe only weapons obtained since that update are re traitable meaning re grind all again.

Maybe I'm wrong but I learn it's best to be not to hopeful with this things.

8 tempers to re-trait? that would be a real joke, imagine the time it takes to farm gold to buiy 8 tempers vs the time you can spent to farm a sprcific trait weapon :) i think getting 8 tempers qould be a saving time activity :)

As for item obtained after, i don'T think so, usualy all items are affected by the patch, wouldn't make any sens that you have 2 items exactly identical but one before and one after.. would require lots of small detaisl in coding i preume to spread them appart...

Take it the good side, it's maybe something to bring back gone players or keep those unhappy in game :)

If by "run" you are referring to repeating the same content over and over, sounds good. People still need to run multiple times to complete sets in the slots they want.

So what? You worried about loss of gold sink? Because moving the gold is a zero sum game otherwise, so nothing to be concerned about.

I can see making thing frustrating to sell crafting bags. I don't see making things frustrating to help players sell thing.

The majority of players can't even get pug for a four man dungeon. Im not to keen on weapons only from trials.
I hope we can craft them.

I hope its difficult to do so its not worth it for most gear, just the gear which is difficult to farm like vMA weapons.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to be that easy to re-trait weapons and armor. Who knows how it's going to play out, but I have feeling that it's going to cost a lot of gold and materials, and possibly a newly introduced material to accomplish this task.
  • Lord_Mirto
To Re-trait it requires knowing the New Trait ok I see this . But I also see a person being required to know the Motif for the armor they are going to re-trait. This will work in to the Trans Mogg and promote Motif sales vie crown store. We will not grind the Gear but the Motif.

I foresee for Trans mogg one will need to know the Motif and Trait of the item they wish to Trans Mogg, this is a transition step for the T mogg

    In my Opinion

You don't need to know the motif, you need to know the trait you will change to.
Transmorg might require you to know the style, that is unless it use an item as style template. That has the downside that you can only change style the same way you select style then crafting an set, you can not use low level styles or other armor weights.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Exactly. There will be a catch for sure.

Either the required "material" will be some weekly reward or Aetherian Dust level of rare or something, or it will be super expensive.

It won't be THAT easy that you will just be able to log in one day and have all your bank and equipped gear in perfect traits, just like that.

It will require some grinding for sure. The difference I think is that now the grinding will likely be finite.

Instead of maybe taking infite amount of time to get that gear in that trait like can happen now, this retrait will put a time limit. For example, if you can get the material once a week, you will be able to have a full set in perfect traits in 10 weeks (just as an example).

They even made furnishing a super grindy process. I don't expect retraiting to be any different.

Will be a crown store feature Fo Sho! 50k crowns for a 10% Chance.

Seriously I am wet for this kind of thing, I like the way Rich has to mention he doesn't have the item he wants still...

Proving it quicker and easier for him to code and produce this than actually grind for it. I think we should all just disapprove of this just to spite him and make him suffer the thousands of runs we've all done for our gear.

maybe, then it'll be worthless.... why would someone re-trait a crafting items you could get the right trait at the start? only way i see it'll be useful, is having a set X as training, then once maxed lvl, you make it divine... but, pointless, since it'll be lvl 1 and you 50+, unless training gear for cp grind but still, lvl differences? if they do that, it'll be pointless as hell

Meh, after reading most if not all the replies here, it definitely sounds like a pay to win feature, they will put it in the crown store for moar $$, then people will be able to just buy their way to BiS gear making the grind and game completely pointless...
P2W ends up > F2P = uninstall. Look at the life of GW2 for example on that. If anyone can gain BiS by presenting their wallet/purse then what is the point in the game? Oh sweet this weapon just dropped, looks sweeet, oh wait, everyone has it as they just bought it from the store, all sense of achievement goes out of the window.

That is just speculation though, as is this thread.
Everyone has the right to wonder though but we will never know until it is live.

I'm willing to bet $1000 that the trait change stones will not be crown store,
Simply as it would be obvious pay to win, some gear is so hard to get its pretty insane.
if they show up in crown store it would be an noob trap like buying 200 gold racial style books or soul gems for crowns. (example they drop from all end bosses in dungeons and cost 1000 crowns)

Problem is that full plate of tinfoil with an tinfoil tower shield is bis here on forum. Enchant to increase paranoia
And we find out then the dlc hits PTS.

Now the feature might require the dlc or the trait change stones might require the dlc to fam
Its an good chance transmorg will cost crowns as its cosmetic.

Re-trait VMA weapons may not matter since the new trial will be dropping new weapons that everyone will want
Not true it be build dependent for example the DW,bow and 2h weapons might be useless. If they follow the same step as the current master/VMA weapons they will effect the third skill in those lines.2h will affect rally depending on how they do it it will be OP or a lackluster. For DW its steel nado not much to do with that give stam some AOe DPS Bow will be draining shot which isn't useful in PVe and master bow better in PvP.
