I'm an objectively bad player. But three weeks of using my face as battering ram has yielded results most sweet.
Defending resto staff for my problems.
I may have looked outside my window to see if there was a parade on standby when the final boss went down.
For those curious, 3 weeks. 2 on the last boss alone. About 100 deaths and on my first character from launch. Pet sorc.

✭✭You know, if you're gonna play glass cannons you can't complain when you inevitably shatter Daedroths are fine as is. VMA is best done with a tanky build if you want less frustration. Will it get you on the leaderboards? Probably not. But I got my first clear with a rattlecage/ kagernac's (all heavy) build and I went in blind--only a handful of deaths. I struggled more with my magblade (BSW/ Lich).

Not to be that guy, but seriously THAT shouldn't be necessary for a single completion. That's not enjoyment, that's torture.
Also took me weeks the first time and almost 200 soul gems on the last boss. Some of us are just bad. Also on mag sorc, tried a couple different builds with and without pets. I would not say I enjoyed it.0 -

I know it's been said before but it does get easier. I suppose I actually enjoy the challenge and am kind of addicted to vma now. But my first clear was crazy. Actually left for a month before trying the last round again. But I made another run the same day and a few more after that and it's much easier. Best drop so far has been a sharp and nirnhoned dagger set. Too bad they're not BiS for PvE anymore.

Well if pet sorc with power surge and 18K+ hardened ward, bound aegis and optionally boundless storm isn't 'tanky' then frankly I don't know what build can be called 'tanky'. I tried first with my stamina DK and got destroyed because I didn't know the mechanics. I managed to reach the boss but that was it. I couldn't beat him. Went in with my sorc (non pet) and cleared it in about 2.5h including the boss. Now I managed to clear it on my DK easily because I already knew all mechanics, I remembered all spawns etc. But that was after 40+ clears on my sorc.Beta tester since February 2014, played ESO-TU October 2015 - August 2022, currently on an extended break

SoLooney✭✭✭✭✭mag sorcs are not glass cannons, they have great offense and great defense, esp if youre using a pet and by far the easiest class and best choice for first time vma completion. they are glass cannons if you dont have a shield up or let surge run out.
