Eh half of aus cant get on due to a apparent sea line breaking. I have to use the bleeping matrix and 100 tricks to connect from the other side of my country just to get on with 400 avg ping lol.

Could be that with NA Server in Texas that there has been an effect from "Harvey". I've got terrible lag / performance, etc since last weekend - PC NA and i'm in NZL and we use the Southern Cross Cable to WCUSA and from there presume to Dallas (think that is were the NA Server is).

If you're having trouble connecting or staying connected you may be affected by one of the current line interruptions. If so you can try using a VPN. I'm currently using WTfast gaming VPN with moderate success depending on traffic. Theres a free trial to see if it'll work for you.

We shouldn't have to use a VPN because oceanic players shouldn't be routed through Hong Kong to get to the servers in the US. ESO is the only game I play which does this, no other online game has been affected by the Hong Kong issue. Why isn't the network path to the ESO NA server via the pacific cables? I've wondered why my ping is at worse by at least 50 to the ESO servers than to other NA games, now I know its because connections are going through HK. This is unacceptable even without the HK problems. As it stands ZOS will lose all Oceanic players for maybe 6 wee ks unless they are using vpns.

At least you're able to log on. I can't even get in without some sort of *** error code. And no, it's not my net, firewall, or antivirus.

Some oceanic traffic is routed via Hong Kong or Singapore to the US, sad but true. Trialling a VPN to see if it helps may take ten minutes of your time and is easy to do. The only cost then is if you decide to subscribe to one. Give it a shot.
