Starting A New Character in Morrowind (Quick Question)

Does the campaign/main story start in Vvardenfell, or still in starting zone/coldharbour? If it does/can start in Vvardenfell, does it tie in to the story in a cool way-- or does it just require you to port to the main city and see the prophet teleport to you?

    Vvardenfell is disconnected from the main story.
    When you start in Morrowind you will be guided to the Morrowind storyline.
    Only when you go to the mainland you will start seeing the prophet.

    You will get a quest asking you to speak to A Hooded Figure, this lets you start the Wailing Prison questline

    You'll start in Morrowind if you have that expansion. All new characters start there now. There's a pretty cool new cut scene you get when you go back to the mainland and start the main quest though

    You'll start in Morrowind if you have that expansion. All new characters start there now. There's a pretty cool new cut scene you get when you go back to the mainland and start the main quest though
