How does the twin blunt bleed passive for swords work?

How does this passive work I am testing magicka builds and wondering when does the 5% damage get added On? Is it just 5% damage to the 1335 damage the weapon does or is it a 5% increase to overall damage?

Its overall damage. I don't think it shows in the tooltip though - only the actual damage done to the target (could be wrong on that).

Its just like Minor Slayer or Minor Berserk. It buffs your total damage done by 5% (applied at the end of the calculations, at the same time as CP is applied).

Ty very much I thought this was the case but for some reason my sword and board is pulling equal parses with my duel wield. I'm totally confused.

Shouldn't be.. DW also gives more base weapon damage than sword and board, as it coundt the 1-hander wpndmg and adds a portion from the extra weapon too. Must be something else affecting your test.

Wtf exact same results using a sword and board 5 piece of the lich compared to a duel wield 1 sharpened 1 powered both lich. I ran a 45 second parse with no ultimate drops and ran very same rotation.

Here´s how damage is calculated (Got this from Asayre)

Damage = Tooltip * Resistance * Critical * Damage Done * Damage Taken * Execute bonus

The Twin-Blade and Blunt passive would go under the "Damage Done" category

Minor Berserk actually affects the tooltip. Checked this yesterday.

I am sure nothing else is changing. I farmed for another sword after pulling a 26k dps parse on 6 mill dummy with.my sword and board. Finally got another sword to test and same results 26k no matter how hard I tried. So I did a 45 second test same food same buffs and no ultimate drops. 21k for both I am so confused.

The only difference is the Magika on the sheild but I figured was a non factor and the damage from another sword would trump this. The math is not right here i use burning embers with a sword and board my damage is 4002. So i put another sword in that is powered and my damage is only 4223. So 5% of 4002 is 200.1 so the added damage from my second sword is only adding 21???

I can only really suggest looking at individual hits rather than a full, timed parse.

Did you have the same glyphs? What abilities were you using? Did the shield have an enchant to give more mag?

But the only real way to test twin blade and blunt (while excluding DW vs others) is to have, say 2 axes and 2 swords of the same set/trait/quality etc. and look at the damage (excluding bleeds) from individual hits with swords vs axes.

Or to drop the skillpoints in twin blade and blunt. I definitely remember when levelling up DW for my magsorc, getting to spend the points in it DID make a difference... just can't remember if it showed on the tooltip or not..

Maybe the extra resource you get on shield makes up for the loss in SD and twin blade and blint passive?

Edit: Just tested and I get 5K more damage with DW...

I was thinking that but it just doesn't add up I have 42000 magicka. 800 magicka out performs that added spell damage and the 5% bonus damage? Test it out yourself because I gave up and started running maelstrom with the sword and board lol.

The S/B passives adds weapon damage, but you get the extra 1000 magic that's right close to 100 spell damage. 2 swords gives you an extra %5 damage done. Percentages scale better with higher damages in general I think. That shield is giving you quite a bit of extra resistance though.

2 swords give you extra 5% and the 1335 damage from the extra sword what ever that ads up too.

You only get 20% of the WD from your offhand IIRC.

Whatever it is, it works out as only 1 WD different to 2-hander on gold weapons

I'm a little off with my presentation. The S/B gives you weapon damage. This is not so good for your magic purposes. You want spell damage. Two swords give you total damage done. That works well with spell damage.

It's not really buffing 5% more damage. Twin blade and blunt is skewed to make swords deal less damage when you have high CP invested in thaumaturge / master at arms / elemental expert / mighty. It's more like 3.7% more damage, which is why swords are at the bottom of the pile in every stamina DW build.
