Morrowind question for the devs.

I have a character that i like to play as a lawfully good guy. This is something i have been doing since my first TES game. He likes to help people in need. Its called role play something you always could do in TES games. But here in Morrowind i'm asked to sneak, steal and sometimes murder to complete a quest and they never start out like that when you take them. Why is there no option to complete these quest in another way. What is the point of persuade or intimidate if you never get to use them. It seems like Zos is so hung up on the dark side of TES and think everyone else is too. So again i ask why no options to complete quest in a lawfully good way?

    Simple answer, split quest lines require significantly more resources to create the more they branch off. There are quite a few moral choices in this game, but most potential ones are ignored for the sake of streamlining the story (and saving $$).

    Most you can do is imagine. You went to solve things diplomatically, and the knife just slipped from your belt. Whoops.

    I guess i can see how it would be hard to correct it now but it was a missed opportunity on Zos part to do this and make a better Tes game.

    At least in Morrowind, if your tasked with killing something its always a bad guy/gal. For RP purposes, your going to try to bring them to Justice, but the Perpetrator never seems to give you that choice, so you have to take the ultimate action.

    I agree that it would be nicer to have a peaceful option but that might not make for a good MMO. Reason, your negotiating the peaceful outcome and someone comes along and kills the boss while your talking to them. So it probably not all that practical, not so much ZOS being cheap or lazy.

    The main use for Persuade and Intimidate is to shorten the leg work on quests.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    I see several problems here:
    • Intimidating is not a good way to terminate or advance in a quest. verb: intimidate; frighten or overawe (someone), especially in order to make them do what one wants.. Intimidating is a different way to do things as an evil character.
    • You don't have to accept or complete a quest if you don't feel like. Examples? The Dark Brotherhood initiation quest. My tempar healer is a sexy beacon of light in the darkness. She won't do it. End of the discussion. Somewhere there is another quest where you have to kill Akatosh people. No way.

    TLDR;
    The good way sometimes is to reject/abandon a quest.

    Treasure the gifts of friendship. Seek joy and inspiration in the mysteries of love.
    Honor the Earth, its creatures, and the spirits. Use Nature's gifts wisely. Respect her power. Fear her fury.
