I average like 8k DPS... Then again I'm a hybrid Templar, sword and board and Resto Staff for them spot heals and the ability to regen both resource pools quickly.

I know, I know, Hybrids aren't meta... Well, I play my own way. I'm practically un-killable in PVE situations... Always the last to drop in group and even then everyone is waiting a couple minutes.

It takes forever for me to kill World Boss's. I'm hacking away for like, 15 minutes at any given boss. :D

What a pleasant surprise, I have a hybrid Templar too!
8k is a little low even for a hybrid, I suggest you get some penetration in there if you haven't. My hybrid is pulling a varying 16k DPS minimum. What's important is to constantly reapply buffs and rotations perfectly so you'll get good DPS numbers.

Too many people do it. There are a select few who back it up using screenshots. But when people say they pull 40k+ dps in a short amount of time only running julianos and lich, I call bularky.

So this dude running the same build as mine, which is julianos and lich, he said he pulled over 50k dps. If course it's b.s. cause it's my PvP build and you can't pull off much dps with that.

So I ask for screenshot and offered to let him use my target skeleton. He kept dodging the subject.

Have you caught anyone lying about their dps time?

I keep dying to a target skeleton!

Skeleton tests don't tell you anything useful. They are unrealistic because they do not represent a real fight where the following factors actually matter:
    - You cannot stand still up to the enemy's chest for entire fight. Enemies are mobile and actually fight back.
    - There are mechanics, AoE attacks, and/or mobs that must be avoided - these WILL disrupt rotation.

What a player demonstrates in skeleton testing is the baseline from which the strategy for any fight springs. Without a baseline, they can't adapt to the dynamic environment you describe.

If someone only pulls 12K on a target skeleton, how do you think they will do in group content? It doesn't prove if you are capable, but it does show if you have a glaring lack of DPS. Instead of lying about it, I would ask for help on how to raise it.

Target Skeleton parses are very nice and informative. They allow us to test a ton of stuff and make cool, effective builds under controlled conditions.

.... it just sucks that people with big egos feel like they have to prove something by putting out their inflated DPS parses that are in no way representative of how they perform when doing actual content. NO ONE CARES ABOUT HOW MUCH DPS YOU DID TO THE TARGET SKELETON. The people who are obsessed with showing off the DPS are almost always perform terribly in dungeons/trials.

while alot of what your saying about dps test are true, they are absolutely necessary for the end-game vet trial community, especially for console. For craglorn on HM non score run trials i could care less about dps as long as you can stay alive and do atleast 20k. For HM's, score runs, and non-craglorn trials, tummy parses are very important and the only tool console has.

No need to lie about my dps on test dummy, especially embarrassing not to say the least. As well it takes me how long? 15 full minutes for 95% health still left on my dps dummy.... :'(

Yeah. It's funny how everybody lie about it. You know your real DPS if you kill whole target skeleton alone. It must have full health before real test. I can tell that my sorcerer's DPS is to normal target skeleton (veteran mode dungoen boss (not hard mode)) 11k in 5 minutes. I don't know if it's good, but it's fine to me right now (I don't have all armor and jewelry legendary yet), because he is PvE character and all dungeons are piece of cake in veteran.

Kraghs set- one heavy infused shoulders cuz even after over 200 keys I can not pull a medium one.
5 Hundings- Infused daggers (precise might be offhand can't remember atm)
    5 TFS- blue jewelry
    Nirned VMA bow back bar.
    Warrior stone.
    Blue buff food.
    CP is good.

Other than jewelry everything is golded out. 30.5K I can consistantly hit on a dummy. How you other stam sorcs can pull upwards of 38k (on a dummy) or higher is mind boggling. Props to yall.

Yeah @Sneaky-Snurr Ive been woring on my rotation with my skeleton. I am driving my numbers up slowly but surely, thats just my baseline against one foe. I do really well when im pulling all the mobs onto me, then ofc, my DPS skyrockets and my abilities are set to resore health on strike, so like I said, unkillable unless I get stuck more than a few seconds, I rely on mobility and resource regen plus slotted abilities for sustaining health.

I am trying new skills and rotations, while it does up my DPS, I get to squishy for comfort.

PVP is a whole different world though, sometimes I'll fight and just plain outlast 2-3 opponents. Every once in while though someone crits me or I get pulled away from safety and swamped... Im kinda nubish in pvp, I do it more for the heck of it than any actual enjoyment.

Gotta pump those numbers up though! Amirite? :D
