No. I like to finish Dungeons quickly and painlessly, using the group finder usually results in being put into a group with people who have no idea what the **** they are doing. I'm all for helping newbies and guiding people but when you repeatedly explain something to people and they continue to get it wrong six hundred thousand times in a row then I'm done, I'm so done.

I think the tool is like ancient tech compared to other mmorpg grouping tool, should be revamped and let players add events by themselves and so on. Would be much more fun :-)

I do. It´s my only way to do group content. Only i wish it worked better, way better. Also that we had trial group finder.

I just want to do Veteran Dungeons with moderately skilled players knowing what they should do, are doing and going to do.

Voted for other...because its a yes and no. If there are no guild members around i use it and as long as i dont have to wait 2 hours to join a group i am actually fine with it. I often do only normal dungeons when using the group tool because see post #2 - here i know what to expect, unexperienced people, people who are doing the quest (i am also missing some of them) and so on - i dont mind.
If i want to seriously do a vet dungeon i wont use the group finder, i will try to find some guild members.

Never even tried. I've seen too many horror stories.

"You can be a member of 5 guilds in the same time"
Following this, why would you ever try with the pugs?

And... some normal dungeons can be soloed, so you gain experience and no one will steal your kills if you went alone ;).
For harder normal dungeons, you can invite a friend.
Vet dungeons are only with the guildies. I never did any veteran with a pug.
Some of the mechanics are already stressful, don't want to have more stress struggling with people in the group.

the current grouping system is total garbage cuz 2 many noobs...it should at least be split in 2...1 for lvl 1-50 and 1 for 50's that would bring a lot of balance...well somewhat cuz there are still noobs even at 660CP and I would never go achiv runs or pledges vets with pugs... let aside the *** waiting time since dps is the most abundant as in all MMO's ofc but...yeah

Somewhat the system works because I managed to do nWGT, nCoS, nICP with pugs on my low level toons. Since you get buffed and you know all the necessary skills and you are not a brain dead all the dungs can be done with pugs and low levels easily.

The problem is, most of the pugs are braindead, they don't have the necessary skills. Is this something ZOS can do about? No. There are sites, videos, guides, visual cues what else people want? Sent someone over to teach people how to play? Don't stand in fire and red circle? Even high level CPs do so...

Other day I was on my toon, level 15ish, guess what I got as a random normal. nCoS of course. I was with a CP300 something and 2x CP 400 something guys. How many times we got wiped? Like 10. Who was trying to explaining to them what to do? I [snip] was. Seen me as a noob probably bacause of my toon level and yet I overperformed all of them in knowledge and even in DPS.

Got nCoS yesterday aswell, who was killing all the damn trashes and bosses. Yes I was. I even mentioned that why I pull some 60-70% damage on the bosses as a level 20... (have CP460 anyway)

It is all about what time of players you get. Some of them just don't care. Some of them trying to be better and learn.

If I can't find anyone to run the dungeon among friends, guild or zone, I just don't run the dungeon. Not worth the trouble of PUGs. As far as normal dungeons, I only run those for gear and if I can't find anyone to join me I just solo.

    So it is working again?
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

I voted does it actually work. Because i think anybody that use it a lot know its been bad for a very long time.

Still to this day.. I can queue as dps for random normal and 1hr go by no problem.
Still i can queue for 20 minutes random normal dps.. leave queue and join again.. and instant invite.

There was still problem you premake group.. 3 people say... for random normal.. and some people did not get credit for it.

All this before you talk any of type of groups/people you get. Really, you learn what you might get after doing 4-5 group finders

It's a pity this tool is the way it is. I think a lot of newer people find it and try it before they make friends or to join a guild... and tool is bugged beyond belief for so many year as first experience before everything else that happen after invite :)

    sorry i rant

I would like it more if it told me Which Dungeon I got chosen for and time in/which boss they're on.

I think if I put myself in for a group i should be able to decline if all but one boss is done and there they sat on the last one for Goodness Knows how long :s

I do NM random as I believe I don't have the xp for vet, still learning content.

But I will still say the most annoying thing stopping some from learning is these Sorcs that pose as tanks and/or healers pushing through leaving people behind, then they demand drops. To add to that using a tool that I think should be banned by looking into the inventories of players. I just deny them anything but still, annoying, I want to get used to my role and learn, but can't when these [snip] come along 70% of the time at the moment.
No one is going to learn anything with these [snip] around. Little kids thinking they are best making themselves look better when in-fact they fail in Vet since they are in NM at CP400+ ruining it for everyone else.

Rant over, but yes I use the group finder as coming across others trying to learn is actually fun, you make new friends along the way too, everyone works together trying to learn until someone comes along ruining it.

So instead of being an EJ about it...try helping people learn what to do. The number of people that know the fights will suddenly grow and the tool will seem to be working better since most people will be able to complete the dungeons.

I do like the group finder ! (even though half the time it doesn't work)

long long ago, after getting to the point where even the hardest vet dungeons had become a joke when running with skilled min-maxed friends/guildies up to the point where I as a healer started feeling useless and unneeded half the time I was begging for an extra challenging difficulty mode up to the point of impossible. Something way way harder than anything we had ever seen before !

    and...poof...the group finder was born ! ;)

Now I run it daily and have the greatest trouble trying to keep dps alive in 2 seperate rooms with regular wipes ! :)

I'm getting very sleepy when I queue for 40 minutes which makes me unable to play in proper way, but I really like to meet new (nice) people and moments when PUGing is going wrong are pretty hilarious to me.

I do like using it, it's very useful. But honestly, it needs a little bit of work... It's not that it doesnt work, finally after I dont know how long it apparently does just 'fine'... But some other MMO's have way more polished and 'visual' group finders...

How about a menu where you can post your party and specify what you are looking for, what dungeon or instance you are running, what level of player you are looking for, etc...? And if someone meets the requirements this person can apply to join?
I dont think it would be something very difficult to do, and im sure the experience on running dungeons with other people would be way better.

    Just my opinion.

    Cheers!

The short answer is no. It appears to not work at all for my DPS characters but I did make a tank and I get groups with them instantly.

I'd still prefer to find people from the guild to run things. Especially if it isn't for the pledges.

Honestly, I kind of do like using it.

When I queue as a DPS, it takes me about 15 minutes to find a group, which is just enough time to do some quality mat farming while I wait. I enjoy getting to experience a dungeon with newer, less experienced players, and it can be rewarding to show them the ropes. Even when their DPS is ***, usually mine is enough to carry the group. And the few times I do get in a good group, it's nice to burn through things.

Of course, I have my share of dungeon finder horror stories, and I do enjoy playing with guildmates more. But PUG groups can be rewarding in their own way.

I chose other. Why, because when you are ready for adventure you go through Group Finder. Could be good, could be bad, but always an adventure.
    Edit:
On a side note Random Normal needs to be fixed. I had to run 2 (1/2) dungeons in a row because the previous "tanks" were booted and I was replacement. Finished both halves but had to run another because I didn't get my 100k xp. It should be fixed to give that xp or at least 75% of it for being generous enough to not bail and help them through. And if you are not a tank, don't claim to be, tired of picking up slack.

When I queue my Healer or Tank, I get a group almost immediately. My DPS, that can take a while, 40 plus minutes before I gave up yesterday. But, I expect that as everyone is DPS.

I also have to go Arrgghhhh when I queue for a Random Vet Dungeon and get a PUG full of CP130's for City of Ash II or Mazzutan or Cradle. It also seems to only queue me for the hardest II versions of Vet Dungeons. These are not something I like to Pug if I can avoid it.

Since the rewards I care about is the same Vet or Normal (the 100K of Exp) I just queue Normal and that takes care of the skewed dungeon selection.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
