Assuming you mean dps, the gold gear would probably be around 2-5k dps max depending on class. The biggest difference would come from the weapon quality as it directly affects mag/spell damage, and the difference between purple and gold weapons is like 100+ damage.

You can generally leave armor at the purple quality as a decent compromise between min/max and gold cost.

This answer is correct and is probably the best answer you will receive. I doubt anyone tests the difference with gear quality since the tests would not provide actual useful information and min/maxing does mean maxing.

to be honest the performance difference if run by bots for maximum synchronization of rotation would be pretty big to be honest, as we'v learned from experience with ESO engine logic is small numbers make huge differences

You could literally test this by crafting a set and looking at your dps difference between the upgrades

In my opinon, gold is only marginally better than purple. I am defining marginal as 5% or less. Others will disagree of course, based on how they play the game.

Noob. Grapes are OP because they can be green or purple. They are not blue. Blueberries are only viable blue possible. ZOS hates bananas as shown by vulnerabilty to bruising.
