I like PVP more, but to get the sets I need, I have to spend more time in PVE. It's also a much shorter process to log in and do dungeons, than to log in, queue for PVP, wait for loading screens to get in, play horse simulator for 3 hours (gross exaggeration of course) and then finally kill some noobs.

Edit: I should also add that I don't get many hours to play each day, so what may seem like a short process, is a lot of wasted time for me.

PvE only. I tried PvP in MMOs before, but it gives me anxiety knowing that it will never be balanced (since the devs are balancing for two completely unrelated modes). Now that the MOBA genre exists, there is really no reason to torture myself with MMO PvP anymore.

I *mostly* pve. I pop into pvp now and then for a change of pace, or to finish some accomplishment of some kind (like skyshards, level up some alliance skills, special events and such) but generally dislike the power disparity.

I much prefer written storyline questing, and exploration, which is why PVE particularly appeals to me.

I find grinding for gear to be mind-bogglingly dull, and I don't generally do it - I *DO*, however, enjoy group activities and running dungeons, so it turns out I DO sorta grind, just never with the conscious intent of doing it FOR the grind

    thanks for asking :)

I mostly do raids. When I'm not raiding, crafting potions, testing rotations, doing vMA, etc. I'm either PvPing or decorating my house. Cause decorating Hunding's Palatial Hall is a total blast.

    This.

MMO's by their nature are unbalanced. You go into every fight knowing that if they have build X then you win, and if they have build Y then you lose. If I want to compete I'll play SC2 or CS:GO where no matter what you have a chance if you react correctly.

I don't understand where all of this PvP queue waiting comes from..Seems like every player has to wait in a queue of like 100 people or more and it never happened to me. Literally every single time on Xbox NA Vivec, I only get a wait of maybe 3 to 5 people. Even when all factions are pop-locked.

And a question to the PvErs..Why do so many people either not like PvP at all or outright strictly play PvE only? Is it something to do with other players gaining advantages or overall imbalance? I like regular gameplay obviously, but sometimes I have to get my dose of competition. I just never saw why a lot of people are 100% against player versus player in an online game.

So far I have done mostly PVE, but the Midyear Mayhem got me interested in PVP, so I will definately be more active in the future.

By PVE, do you mean difficult content like Trials? Or overland questing? They're quite different.

I mostly quest, which sometimes brings me to Cyrodiil. And sometimes I will join a group and go take a castle. But over 95% of my time is spent questing solo.

Yeah, I figured that out after a week of BGs with, well, not optimal performance from my side. I survive and perform a lot better in open world atm.
Hopefully I will learn as I find it more fun than expected.

I used to be 90% PvP but there was a time that cyrodiil was unbearable for me, so I only did trials and dungeons for a little over 6 months. Now I'm nearly evenly split.

I like regular gameplay obviously, but sometimes I have to get my dose of competition. I just never saw why a lot of people are 100% against player versus player in an online game.

It probably largely comes down to people wanting different things out of their game experience. For every person who thrives on competition and the thrill of facing off against other players, there's someone who finds more enjoyment in experiencing storylines and satisfaction in beating PvE content. You'll probably find more of that disparity in a game like ESO that's part of a franchise known for its storylines and quest content rather than being built around PvP.

Personally speaking, the only reason I like PvP here is because I can have fun zergderping around and feel like I'm accomplishing something and get AP, and I don't lose anything if I die so I don't have to be uptight about it. It's fun for me because I don't have to take it seriously, because it doesn't have to involve intense battles where something's at stake. I learned early on in other games that there will always be someone who's more pro than me and has better gear and spends more money and teams with friends etc. etc. so it's not worth it for me to try hard to be good because I'm just going to get whooped anyway. Fortunately that aversion didn't entirely carry over to this game, and when I finally tried venturing into Cyrodiil I discovered that I was having fun. But I'm definitely having fun in a different way than someone who goes out looking for competition and takes PvP seriously. I wouldn't find it fun if I cared whether I won or lost in a fight, because I don't need the high blood pressure.
