Now that the dust is beginning to settle on the HotR patch (before it's kicked up again after console launch) I'd really like to see some of the best group and only good solo content, outside of questing, get a refresh.
-Most armor sets in DSA and MA are junk. Some used to be good, some occasionally have their uses, but for the most part it's junk. They pretty much all need their 5 piece bonus looked into as most are almost there as far as use goes. I wont get much into each individual set as I feel there are more clever minds than mine to suggest proper changes.
*One thing that does come to mind though (and this could apply to dungeons and trials too), what if the armor from the vet version was better than the normal? The gear in its current state could be the normal drops and the vet versions would have a buff or augment to the 5-piece. Or maybe an additional buff or effect. Healer's habit gets a 20% chance on heal to have Major Mending instead of minor. Permafrost has a chance on taking damage to proc a shield starting the health recovery buff. Elemental Succession could give a smaller damage buff with a short cooldown but you got the bonus to all 3 elements at the same time when active. Not sure about that last one but you get the idea. Change their names slightly to show difference. Healer's Addiction, Unending Permafrost, Elemental Perfection, etc.
-Buff the enchantment bonuses on vDSA and vMA weapons and/or rework them. The utility of these weapons, which should be some of the best in the game, has been fading for awhile now and HotR is putting pretty much the rest to bed. The bows are still really great but magicka users really got the shaft now. With 5-5-1 setups looking to be the best for DPS output for now the buffs would have to be pretty useful. Maybe 2 stat buffs? crit and damage. That might be OP. Could provide a cost reduction as well. A vDSA Inferno staff that gave a small buff and cost reduction to Force Pulse instead of Destructive Touch could make FP+Frags PvE builds actually sustainable. Who knows, again better minds...
-The recent addition to set weapons in vMA is fantastic but why not add other armor traits to the pools? Why are purple vMA rings still non existent? I have a pathetic frost Warden that would benefit greatly from a Julianos+Winterborn setup. There's probably other builds that would benefit too.
-Finally, refresh the mechanics a bit with some new changes or if that's too much, alter the spawn points or randomize them. Why spend time and money creating this content and then letting it get stale and bland with diminishing incentive to play it.
Probably not the first post calling for this and may not be the best one, I just really think the game and the community could benefit from a refresh and a "Back to Basics" type of update instead of another "Change it all" one.
