I know this forum is always about how OP is the Sorcerer but I'm struggling with the recent patch. PVE is going really fine but PVP...I feel useless.

Before HotR i was running spinners+lich with infernal guardian. I wasn't bomb proof but my burst was crazy with sharpened weapons an thief mundus. After the patch I feel useless. I can become more tanky using pirate skeleton but my dps sucks, and if I try to be a glass cannon as before i feel more like water-gun trying to hide. I tried diferent combinations, of mundus, of traits for the weapons and nothing, nothing can make me do damage as before.

I only play bg due I don't like zergs and the horse simulator called cyrodill, I like pvp, and be able to respawn if i die and come back to action in 10s, not in 10m.

So my question is, How do you play your mag-sorcerer? Which sets are you using? Any way to be as powerful as before?
Because I'm on 13kspell pen, 2200sp, 2100 of mag recovery and even making the combo shards+curse+some pulse+light atacks before they explode together, taking maximal 40-60 of their total health, but then, they get healed to the maximal almost immediatly.

Before this patch with that combination plus the execute and for the more tankies ones with the ultimate it was more than enough to kill 90% of the players, of course, if i was focused by 3 pj i was down in 4 sec if the players were competents.
I tried to look for streamers to see how they play buy mostly only go stam dk or sorc stamina after the patch.

How are you with 2200sp and 2100 mag recovery using spinners/lich?
I use the same setup and get 2100sp and 1550recov.
Btw I use slimecraw its great dmg increase.
Im ps4 so didn't got the patch yet but I plan to use same setup with a precise staff and il see how it works.

Your spell damage is way too low to do anything I reach 3500 spell damage self buffed in BGs which is what you should be shooting for. Shoot for 3k at a minimum.

I would recommend to drop Lich. It's a good sustain set yes, but it doesn't give you any damage and you can still sustain fine with sets that also give damage.

Well that's simply not true. I run significantly less spell damage than that.. but have 41k magicka in No CP (and roughly 49k in CP) which more than makes up for it. More than one way to skin a cat.

OP: before the patch, i ran 5x necropotence, 5x amberplasm, and 1xgrothdar. After the patch, even with all three of those sets nerfed, I run the exact same thing. I changed my mundus from the thief to the mage (which gives +2k magicka i think)and it all plays the same.

The only gear change i made was swapping out my sharpened necropotence staff for an infused necropotence staff, which i bought the day they announced the infused change for approx 2k gold. my backbar is resto which has been and still is infused. Obliv dmg glyph on inferno, wep dmg increase on resto.

I think im #2 on PC NA deathmatch leaderboard atm.

Resto ult is your friend. The crit dmg increase from resto ult is even more useful now that shadow has been nerfed.

I would also say that the BGs have seemed especially competitive lately. Many of the bad players have been weeded out. If you're playing primetime, expect to go up against some of the best.

Which traits are you using for your clothes? Imp?Are you running with a pet for bg?Which one?

About the crit dmg increase of the resto ult, with that set up your crit would be really low on no-cp areas, its worth it for you damage?

Yeah I would say shoot for 3k at a min but you can still get up to around 40k mag

Traits are infused on the big pieces, divines on the little. I run necropotence so I have to run a pet, but I Love the pet and would use it anyway. I use the twilight Tormenter and I make sure to keep its buff up all the time (does 50% extra damage to opponents over 50%). It's a really great way to pressure people into that 40% health range where a sorc can just explode them.

I use resto ult offensively both for the crit dmg, but mainly for the fact that it lets me not worry about dropping my shields for 6s. So if I'm caught in a corner by a nightblade , I'll pop a pot and hit healing ward, then resto, then structured entropy to empower my next move, then haunting curse, then mage's wrath, then three crushing shocks in a row. I use a potion that gives me magicka, spell crit (or detect), and immov ability, so I'll use that right before the resto which means I can really let loose for 6 seconds. If my c shock procs a c frag I'll use that too. Very few people can survive that burst.

But I'm sure there are other sorcs out there who do the same thing. A rotation is just that - a rotation. The real differentiator between a good sorc and a bad sorc is their positioning. If you're finding yourself being surrounded by opponents, or not knowing which direction they'll come from, then you've done something wrong. Good sorcs will proactively change their positioning relative to their team and the enemy, and good sorcs aren't afraid to let an enemy go in order to set themselves up for a better position in be next encounter.

Bg's have been the easiest pvp I've had my entire time on eso. Even more so after proc nerf patch.
Time spent doesn't equate to skill in terms of bg scoring
Wish they would fix bg's up a little and allow it to be more competitive. Include a rank ladder for team v teams
