should all CP gear be changed into lvl 50 gear so that...

so that there is none of this odd cp requirement for gear? then maybe we can reintroduce level cap increase whenever/if they decide to add a new gear tier, less feels of grind, less gimping people as they cp up and makes the whole max level thing less scary for newer players.

just an idea i thought of while waiting for respawns :p

    It doesn't seem to me that getting to CP 160 is such a strenuous task, but I'd have to start a new account to find out.

    the 160 isnt that big of a deal true, the main issue i see is that people are semi dependant on the scaling to help them play till 50, the moment you hit cp 1 your battle level thing just drops right off and you become so fragile it makes the game seem harder for no reason.
    and psychologically what sounds more appealing to reach.
    lvl 50 or lvl 160cp?

    gotta remember casual play is what helps keep overland alive

    To be fair CP10-160 takes VERY little time now. It's unlikely people will amass BIS gear stuck at low CP level that's not hard to get again.

    Yes as in literally remove any reference to CP
    BUT

    There should be a requirement using character levels above 50 for any CP related items and NPCs using 50-66

    I'd be for removing the cp requirement from gear. It only really affects new players (old guys just level to 50 and then boom! max cp attained.) I don't really see how cp requirements on gear benefits the game.

    Between bop, only being able to trade within your group (for gear of any worth), and the best stuff largely only available in more difficult content, I'd say there are enough safeguards against cheesing a new toon with uber gear.

    Maybe I'm overlooking something though?

    My guess is the gear level system is gonna get reworked, if the bug with non-max repair kits is any indication.

    We already had vet content dumbed down. The lvl 50 to cp 160 is a good time to learn to use all those abilities u got while doing the 1-50

    I'll try and find it, but one of the devs said that when they introduce higher tier gear, they will do so in a way where we don't have to regrind our gear. It was a German magazine, I believe. If I can find it I'll link it.

    1- 160 is where the get punished harder due to elitist attitudes.
    moment they hit 50 they'll feel like "end game time! time to get some gear and have real fun" only to be punished for being weaker due to how battle leveling works

    it takes no time at all to get to 160 ... less than 7 hours

    It won't even feel like 7 hours. if the new players actually bothers to play Cadwell's Silver and Gold for the story, they will eventually get to cp 160 anyways.
