I'm not sure if it was rping or not but today there was a young lady singer her heart out at the tavern using the in game voice chat. The songs she was singing seemed to be all originals and drew in a big crowd.

My mic was not working and txt chat was bugging out but I wanted to say well done! I love running into these kinds of events from players. She did three songs and everyone on Xbox was quietly listening and being respectful. They cheered for more songs after she was done.

I don't know who you are but ty for the memory and I hope ur in the forums to read this

Xbox has an in-game voice chat?! Dude!! Why doesn't PC have that??

Anyway that's very cool, good for her, I hope she does some videos to share on YouTube or something. That sort of thing really enriches the game.

I guess it was free lol I was just running to the wayshrine when I passed the tavern and my mic picked it up. Walked inside and she was by the fireplace with about 30ish players just standing around listening. Was a nice break from the game and a treat to witness. I know how hard it is to put urself out there like that.

PC needs to have in game zone chat- for this very reason! this is the kind of social event that we re missing out on - those kind of interactions would be amazing- priceless!

just make it adjustable so that voice is adjustable to players in ur 10m radius - or people in ur group. i know there will be flaming , arguments and all that- but the benefit is too good to miss out on- especially in battlegrounds- where the team that has voice coms- wins most of the time. it would really help pvp goto the next level competition wise- but socialy the game as a RPiong game would really benefit. ive asked for this feature and imagined things like that happening- but to hear an actual bard in a tavern? thats just so cool

XBOX (and i asume playstation) voice chat is as follows
zone (local area zone only not the whole map)
    group
guild (guild have multiple chat channels & officer only channels)

this is the main reason i and many other people choose console over PC

Yeah console is great for in game chat with groups and guildies ( i actually thought that it would be available on pc/mac also) but explain to me why a very high percentage of console players have area chat turned off?.. could it be due to the fact they don't want to listen to salty duellers, slim shady, some old fart coughing and spluttering down the mic, babies crying in the background, kids screaming etc. Voice coms may have been a reason that you purchased for console but i dare say the majority did'nt even give it a thought.

I think you're mistaken, many have the text chat turned off, the area chat is not so bad I don't think.

Usually ppl are already in chat in groups, guild channels etc.

I always like finding the little things in ESO such as this. It isn't often that luck would have me come upon an RP or social event like that, though, which makes it even more fun when it does happen.

how am i suposed to know why other people do things?

sure there are times when i load into grahtwood and the game decides to kick me into area chat and some1 is playing some crappy song, while a group of other people are arguing over something & some baby is crying....

and there are othertimes i "accidentally" play sytem of a down into zone chat

but the majority of the time area chat is quiet, somebody looking for help or something amazing like what was described in the original post is occuring!

If PC Tamriel had this voice thing you speak of then this one she would certainly make use of it.

If you know the singing voice of Khajiit then you would know this would be most regrettable for the business of the tavern concerned.

yeah even when it's clunky and people would prefer 3rd party voice chats, I've always appreciated when a game has it available. I get why console has it and pc doesn't, but I also agree it would be nice to have on PC too. :P

Hook a USB or Bluetooth keyboard up to your Playstation and you can type as if you were on a PC.

As simple as hitting enter or entering the command for which zone/guild/area chat you wish to speak in.

Cool! Don't have voice but I love the musical emotes (/flute /lute /drum /dance...). When someone starts playing a musical instrument, my little elf can't help dancing! I just wish there was also a /sing emote where you would sing a random Malukah song or man song if your character is a man.
