How do i link an item i dont have in the chat?

If it's a piece of gear, by using the add-on itemization brower.

If it's anything else, you can't.

But you can re-link anything within the chat even if you don't have it (by right-clicking any link).

There are H1 codes which can be used to generate an item link. Thing is, there's no sanity check on these things, so you can generate insane or impossible items using the system if you're so inclined. For example: Behold the impossible ring:



H1 codes can also pop up items that were removed from the game, or never accessible, like the Dark Brotherhood Invitation and Auriel's Bow.

Copy & paste from a text editor. You can link ANY item, real or not, that way.

So yes, there's more ways than using just one AddOn, which is what your post implies ...

Also, those number are anything but obscure.

There are full item lists for any item in the game available online and it takes less than 10 seconds to find those using Google.

Ironically, finding the formatting, to tweak it around, is harder.

To be fair, if the OP was asking for an item that can't drop, that would be one that they don't have. For example, the guy asking for a Ravager Bow in another thread. It's kinda why understanding that the |H1:item codes don't have a sanity check is important. Also, because, occasionally, you'll see some lizardflipper posting CR180 items in zone, and it's worth knowing how that happens so you don't fall for their trolling/scamming.
