Can't Escape the Wailing Prison

I have a character who I left midway through the Wailing Prison, AFTER Morrowind and BEFORE Horns of the Reach. I got past the part where I had to destroy a Watcher and right before I had to speak to Lyris at the flaming door. I have not logged in to this character for a while, it was before the Horns of the Reach update. I have tried /stuck, porting out, going to Cryodil, opening the door, etc. I do not have the quest any more in my journal. I have no idea how to get him out!

For @ZOS_GinaBruno , my incident number is 170818-002629.

The person who replied to my ticket has told me that "This has been sent up to a specialized team for further investigation. A member of that team will contact you as soon as possible." However, it has been over 8 hours and no one has even contacted me since then, not even to let me know that it will be looked at. I can't be the only one experiencing this issue. I would like to know if someone is taking a look at this or at least on someone's to-do list. I'm quite fond of this character and I don't want to lose him.

I'm not sure if this will work if you're still in the prison, but you can try.
If you're in a guild open the guild screen, right click the name of a guild member that is currently logged in and select 'Travel to Player'. Or if you have anyone on your friends list, open the list and do the same steps. This might port you out of the zone.

Don't port out unless you don't care about doing the MQ. If you leave without rescuing the Prophet, you're going to have problems.

Now it's the weekend, I think you're probably going to have to wait a while. You might be better off creating the character over again if he hadn't gotten very far yet.

I have tried porting to guild members, I have tried disabling add-ons, everything. And he is pretty far so I'm between a rock and a hard place on this one

How much work was put into this character? Because if it's relatively new, I'd consider just starting over.

How much work are we talking about. If he is anything less than 30 you might as well start again.

I am guessing the work the OP mentions was during character creation.

I would expect it to take a few days for them to respond but I am sure they will. If you get any automated replies reply back to keep ticket open.

I ran into the same problem a few weeks ago on a new toon, except I was up to the part where you jump into the portal to leave. It took about a day, but I received an answer to my ticket saying they fixed the problem and when I logged back in I was in glenumbra.

I had a problem on a character where she kind got stuck in some environment and... caused me computer to crash. Don't know how or why. But it only happened when I tried to load that character. Submitted a report and they ported her back to Stonefalls. Worked fine after that. Weird bugs.

Your character is about 7 minutes into the game. I'd just delete him and start a new character. If you haven't played him in a while, you can't be THAT fond of him.

2. Give them at least 1-2 business days to respond

If this were the case, then just spend $10 to get an appearance change token, then go in and write down all the settings, delete character, create new with settings you wrote down. However, if OP started out in Vvardenfell and put a lot of hours into them before talking to hooded figure and ending up in Wailing Prison... that could be a problem.

Since May 22 on PC players start in Morrowind. If the OP is in the Wailing Prison, it is very possible that they have completed Vvardenfell, and have quite a bit invested in this character.

To the people not realizing: after Morrowind, the Wailing Prison is NOT the tutorial anymore. To even get to it, you have to start the quests to get there. You could literally complete every zone in the game before going there if the character was made after Morrowind's release. That's why the OP likely won't "just reroll."

That is incorrect as I have morrowind expansion, and was several hours into the game at that point.

I tried that same fix and I can't use that door, it says "You can't use that door right now"
