Research is bugged since patch

Started a new toon, my main is a max crafter and I'm CP 639. So I've had my fair experience with researching, so what I'm seeing here is definitely a bug.
My wood working and black smithing research won't let me add another item, I have 1/2 slots used on both and therefore 1 free on each.
I try to add an item into research, it brings up the item selection menu, and when I go to select that item it simply states 'No Available Research Slots' ... even thought it says under research slots 1/2.
Anyone having a similar issue?
