in the tooltip for Merciless Resolve... it ays it needs 5 LA or HA to proc, but it seems to proc after 2 HA's... so is it a bug or is it counting each tick on lightning staff... which doesn't make sense since it prods after 2 flame staff HA's as well...

Oh ok... I hadn't played my MagBlade in ages... and when I was doing HoF last night... it kept proccing after what seemed like 2 HA's on both destro staffs...

Does anyone know if this is intended or is it a bug?

    Na PS4

    5 heavy attacks
    2 heavy 3 light

Seems to be working "fine" lol if merciless can be considered working properly.

This only happens with Fully Charged Ice and Inferno staves, as well as Bows due to their longer channel times and overall lack luster damage/utility (comparatively to other weapons). Each of these count as 2 stacks to Merciless or Relentles. "Medium" or failed Fully Charged heavy attacks do not trigger this phenomena. Light attacks always count as 1 stack, regardless of weapon type.

Dual Wield has the fastest FC HA (fully charged heavy attack) thus is void.
Two Handed melee weapons enable additional damage on your next attack, thus voiding.
Lightning Staves restore more Magicka than any Destruction staff and splash, thus is void.
Restoration staves restore more Magicka, enable Major Mending, and heal nearby allies to your target, thus voiding.

Happening on my Lightning staff also... 2 full HA's and proc on next LA or HA LA HA combo... XBNA fwiw

Lightning staves used to in Morrowind, now no longer do. Likely because it was extremely effective on HA builds such as 5 IA + VMA staves, being able to beat spammable builds with ease.

Oh Ok... so in HotR... lightning staffs don't do this any more? I was just curious... like I said I hadn't played MagBlade in ages...

It's not a news: on PS4, it's so since Morrowind. Actually, an HA seems to count as 2 LA, so after 2 HA and 1 LA (or 1 HA and 3 LA), you can use the spectral arrow. This at least with magblade and lightning or fire staff, I didn't try with stamblade.

Inferno, Ice and bow still count as 2
