Hey everyone . I was reading a forum thread about disease enchant and how it is not proccing the Defile debuff . Anyways , I found Wrobel's few comments there . It looks like this .
Great feedback guys. We'll be writing the Elemental Status Effects help screen to match the current in game effects. Here are the highlights from the different elements:
• Fire: Target burns for additional damage over 4 seconds.
• Shock: Instant damage. Applies Minor Vulnerability for 4 seconds, increasing the damage taken by 8%.
• Frost: Instant damage. Applies Minor Maim for 4 seconds, reducing target's damage by 15%.
• Disease: Instant damage. Applies Major Defile for 4 seconds, decreasing healing taken and health recovery by 30%.
• Poison: Deals Poison Damage over 6 seconds.
I was thinking , maybe it is time to improve the Help screen better and better since they do actually care about Help screen .
I moved through the Help screen and these are the things that are missing and should be added .
Sneaking : Sneak attacks stun the enemy .
Blade of Woe : Killing an enemy with Blade of Woe grants less experience .
Character Progression , Advancement , Undaunted : It says Dungeon achievements but Public Dungeon achievements do not contribute to the Undaunted tree but still under Dungeon section .
Champion : Earning Champion Points , and spending them , gives the character stat boost but not mentioned here .
Evaluating Weapons : It says increasing Weapon Damage increases base damage against enemies . Should also mentioned that increasing Weapon's Damage also increases Healing Done .
Enchanted Weapons and Armor : This are completely ignores the different cooldowns on different types of glyphs and how they can be activated .
Elemental Status Effects : Even though the buttom part compares the chance of applying status effects between different ways , it doesn't show what the actual chance is .
Disabling Effects , Off Balance : Doesn't specify the actual percentage or damage bonus . It just says ''added damage bonus'' .
Basic Attacks : Buttom part where it says ''release left click to shoot the heavy attack from bow'' is outdated , we can't hold the heavy attack anymore .
Blocking : Doesn't mention anything about preventing CCs , except few skills that go through block . Blocking a heavy attack only stuns weak PvE enemies , not every enemy . Should be more clear . Also , nothing about stamina recovery being zero during block .
Break Free : Doesn't say anything about CC immunity you gain after Break Free .
Dodging : Doesn't say anything about Dodge Fatigue .
Ultimate Abilities : Doesn't mention anything about how to gain Ultimate points .
Blessed Shards , Luminous Shards : Outdated .
Combustion , Healing Combustion , Magicka Combustion : Outdated .
Recalling : Cost increases if used back to back .
Travel to Player : It says ''you will be teleported to their location'' which is not true . You go to the nearest Wayshrine .
Reviving : This doesn't require a Soul Gem until level 10 . Might be wrong here , haven't died before I was 10 for a long time ^^
Fishing : Doesn't give any clues about different types of Water and which bait to use .
Well , after a quick look , these are all the things I noticed . If you find more , please comment and I will add to the list .
Another topic I would like to add is the tutorial . Sadly , there isn't much people can learn there . There aren't any clues on basic mechanics like CC immunity , Dodge Fatigue , Status Effects , not being able to dodge AOEs , generating ultimate etc.
For example , you could make the new player learn how to use a (temporary) ultimate in a quest . Tell the player to light/heavy attack , dodge , block , heal and let them gather ultimate by doing those . Remember that big skeleton dude just before you escape Coldharbour ? Make that skeleton only killable with an ultimate , one only usable in tutorial . There are so many things you should be teaching . I know that trying to teach everything would be so much but a player that wants to learn will learn . If not , put those informations in small notes as player continues in tutorial .
I swear , I had to teach some CP 550 dude how to get ultimate . He didn't know that light/heavy attacks would give the ultimate regeneration buff . No offence to other people who didn't know this , it is not your fault after all . It is just tutorial being not instructive enough .
I had to learn all the mechanics from other people or Youtube when I started the game . Things like the first comment I quoted from Wrobel is the exact thing we need in the game , shown to players in a clear way .
I also would like so many other things to be added in the game like those threads which explain everything in both mathematical and in a simple way . So many useful information is in forums , only can be learned by randomly clicking on the thread and no way else . Lead people into these threads by making them sticky posts in Player Guides section for example . Let players know this stuff without waiting for them to find them randomly in forums . What I would do is making official threads in forums , explaining every single mechanic in the game and how they work . How to calculate things , which abilities scale with what and how . ZOS needs to enlighten people more about how things work in this game .
What do you think ?
