Is bounty supposed to decrease while offline?

Because mine isn't. It was 58k (please don't judge) when I got off, and 58k when I got back on. Maybe I'm just trippin or something but I thought I remembered when it decreased offline.

I have the passives for the Thieve's Guild...

Yes, you dirty rat, your bounty is supposed to go down while off line.

that's a pretty big number. i wonder if it is decreasing, but so slowly that it hasn't had enough time to make a difference in the displayed digits. the Character sheet will show your exact amount, rather than the rounding off you see in the bottom-left.

putting skill points into Swiftly Forgotten in the Thieves Guild skill line will speed things up. when i accidentally got a bounty on a character unprepared to be a criminal i was surprised how slowly the bounty decayed.

Bounty does decrease while offline, but I believe it decreases at half the rate or something.
Make PC NA raiding great again!

    Down with drama!

I agree, I've heard that it should decrease while offline. After all, the NPC guards are still on patrol, even when you're offline ;)@swippy has a good idea, check your C character sheet.

I thought you had to stay online for it to go down.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

It goes down but at the same rate as when your online. So find some place out in the woods for best rate and log off. In your case probably about a day or three to get to 0. Or for one of the achievements pay it off you will get a big chunk of what you need
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

Or just fence any stolen loot, put your gold in the bank and go about your business. If the guard kills you, he can't take your banked gold, only what is on your inventory.

I have played with a couple characters with high bounty that has lasted years. IMO it makes visiting a town a bit more fun.

Agreed, this is why I like to keep my bounty high, feels like a fugitive lol. It's just that I noticed that it was the EXACT same as when I went offline, so I was wondering if there was some sort of bug.

No bug, it has always been the same, makes no difference whether you are online or offline.

I go down then offline and also then playing other characters.
You can also teleport out of most location to an wayshrine in the wilderness and do other stuff, do not think any npc in group dungeons react, does npc in cyrodil?
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I'm pretty sure points into swiftly forgotten only work while online.

interesting! it'd be a hassle to test, but definitely something to consider.

oh, and i wish i had remembered to confirm in my post above that it is intended and normal for bounty to decay while offline (or logged in on another character). my criminal does his murdering and thievery before i go to work just because of this.
