How to always stun foes when hidden

My stamina build can crouch, go hidden and then use Snipe or heavy attack. This knocks the enemy down with a stun for at least 3 seconds. I can do this all the time whenever i'm hidden on unsuspecting foes..
However, my magblade does not have the same effect. I go hidden, or use invisibility. Strike. And no matter what move i use, they do not get hit to the ground like my stamina build does.

We need some more info to figure out what's going on.

Have you looked into the gear you're wearing or the skills that you have got for each?

Are we talking two nightblades? One stamina vs magicka? What's the difference between the skills you're choosing?

Pretty sure you need a physical attack to produce the stun when attacking from stealth.

Can't speak for magicka, but I know that for stamina you can only get that lengthy stun from stealth if you attack from behind the target. Maybe try that with your magicka attacks?

the physical attack sounds very promising to be honest.
However, even moves stating that they stun foes; arent stunning foes during pvp.
