It worked, for a short time. Was it worth it?

I came a cross a spot in Betnikh where a bunch of players were macro casting. 5 or 6 of them that day day, level 8-12, all with clanfears running around. They would stand in one spot and cast Summon Clanfear, over and over, and over. If anything came close to them, the hoard of clanfears would charge it, and another wolf would add it's corpse to the pile. I reported them individually, and went on my way.

The next day, I saw them again. A few more than before, but same idea. I reported them all again.

And again the next day. This time I took a video of them casting and showing each one to get the nameplate on the video, and added the link to each of my reports.

By the fourth day, I gave up on individual reporting. I took the video, reported one character and included the link to the newest video.

Day five, all identical khajits. Looked like a convention of ESO storm troopers, surround by clanfears and dead wolves. Another video, and another report. Most of them were level 12 to 20. A lot of experience from macro casting!

Day 6 - they were gone!!!! None of them anywhere in the area. Lots of live wolves to gently harass players.

Day 6 (4 hours later) They came back, same exact location. New accounts, new names, newbie gear and all level 4. (sigh) 1 video recorded, 1 report made with link. Parked one of my storage mules nearby, so all I need to do is log in, capture a video, report, and log out. Maybe 5 minutes to report a dozen cheaters.

Logged in tonight, about 2 hours after the original post - No bots YeaH!!

Quick check an hour later --- Macro was messed up. They were scattered all over the place. A lot of new ones too. Thinking of adding snarky comments to video and posting to YouTube for the LOL's.

TIL that reporting cheating to xbox is faster than reporting through ZOS. Not sure if it does any good. My team may have lost the Elder Scrolls, but a dozen cheats were reported.

that's what i love about pc...'cheating' just means..i am lower level and i don't know whats happening...honestly if you really hate the bots just sit there a kill them repeatedly...you get xp they come back to the farm..why report? just win

@chris25602 what? It's a PvE zone. He can't 'kill' players.

There's no defense for gold / XP farming bots, at all.

ZOS need to look at account transfers and lock it down (I.e. Logging in from different computers / places after rapid leveling) and look at Gold transfers in game - via mail / COD or the odd items you see in a trader like an Apple for 1 million gold.

If they don't have the ability to look I to the cheaters cut off their mechancisms for botters to profit, and they will stop.

Read the OP carefully. I said "Betnikh", not Cyrodil. You can't kill these characters. You can't duel with them or trade, and whisper does nothing at all. Every time I get kicked from the servers because the game is overloaded, I blame these people. This is just one site. No telling how many more places there are with player soaking up CPU cycles that real players could be using. Since they are killing hundreds of wolves in a day, that is hundreds and hundreds of resources that other players cannot use. Maybe not the worst thing to miss out on rawhide, but this is a newbie island. Some of these characters would be very happy to have the materials and experience.

Update and Progress(?) Report

Over the past week, I've checked up on my group of macro wizards every day, sometimes twice a day. There were two times when no one was macro-casting, but I found a group of cloned khajit queueing up at the castle. An hour later, they were hard at work killing wolves.

I started checking their Xbox profiles to see how long they had been doing this. Some of them had screen captures and better yet, they had videos of their cheating. From the screen captures, they are all grouped. The video shows one of them is activated, runs around collecting all of the rawhide. They had 3183 pieces of rawhide. They had to stack it so they could finishing the harvest run. I've made an album of the screen captures and videos, and include a link to it when I reply to the support tickets.

For the month of August, I've sent in 90 reports to ZOS. I've also reported 30 of them to Xbox.

The farming bots are still there. I've not had a single reply from ZOS. Does @ZOS_JessicaFolsom or any one else every read the tickets?

I officially quit. There is no point in it anymore.
