Which platform should I stay on?

I keep switching between Xbox and PC, but I don't want to continue leveling up one char until I decide where to stay..I was initially on Xbox and then switched to PC, now back to Xbox but I still have my computer. It's like this for Battlefield 1 and GTA 5 as well, now I just need a PS4 :dizzy:

I weigh the pros and cons, and it seems to me that PC might be where I stay. PvP for example..It's hard as hell to communicate on Xbox unless you join a voice party filled with 30 other people, while on PC i can just use the chat box to instantly talk to others, and the entire faction at that. PC also has addons.

But for Xbox, there seems to be a more active and populated playerbase (Can someone tell me if this is true?) as well as ease of finding people to play AKA the party format. I think communication is the most important part here, though.

Sorry, I somehow clicked to post my thread through the keyboard and only got that one sentence in haha

That was something else I was going to say..I have no friends on Xbox anymore that play anything other than the usual COD crap. Would finding people be easier on PC?

And also, is the population more or less the same? I personally think it would be considering it is an MMO but Xbox does have very easy accessibility compared to us

PC is the best if you can run it on max settings. Between access to thousands of add-ons and far superior graphics (especially when modded), it's just a way better experience. If you can't run it on max, then stick to console.

Wait a second..How much do addons affect PVP? Are there apps that keep your name and emblem even when stealthed or something? If they have a way of making it EZPZ i'll just go to Xbox. And yes, I can definitely run it on max!

This. If you have a good group you like to run with then that is a good place to be. Otherwise PC, they seem to have less issues, have addons and I see more changing to PC than changing to console. Also, as long as your PC is decent so it runs it as well or better than the console do.

As someone who plays on Xbox, I would never recommend anyone play on console from the get go. There are absolutely 0 pros and my cons list would take an entire forums page. This game is so poorly optimized for console that it makes me sick to think they released it exclusively because they knew they would turn so much revenue on a blatantly broken product. I have better frames on a 250$ 6 year old notebook that I used for classes in college than I do on my out of the box Xbox one. There are certain achievements on Xbox that, in the current state, I can confidently say are absolutely impossible and will never be obtained by anyone.

If frames weren't enough, add-ons on PC are amazing. There's so many quality of life add-ons that are absolute game changers tbh. If you have a PC, play on that. You won't regret it. If you're playing casually and just quest and do overworld content, Xbox would be ok. But if you have any desire to PvP, PvE, play for more than an hour at a time, not get a migraine when you drop a destro ulti, not have to pull 8 windows on your computer when skyshard hunting, etc..then do yourself a favor and play on PC.

Yeah I am, but using a keyboard instead of that pad accessory is much better, and on console zone chat it's a lot less active. On PC though everyone uses the chat box and it makes communication very easy.

For example..In PVP the easily accessible chat box is great for relaying messages instantly and strategy, better than voice chat in a party of 50 voices talking at once.

Anyone can say anything fast if they need to and zone chat is always on so 99% of players see it..XB1 has a lot of casuals that won't take the time to do things like that. Only con to PC is having to have a separate program for voice chat.

Glad to have you apart of the XB1 Community! It's not nearly as doom and gloom as the above poster portrays.

In all honesty, the games are VERY different between PC and console. Add Ons make a HUGE difference in both PVP and PVE. Forget simply QoL add ons such as skyshards, lorebook, auction house items.... PC has a ton of Add On Enhancements that actually help your performance. So not only are the above mentioned FPS issues taking away from your performance on console but you do not have Add-On that basically tell you how to play the game. However console still have players who can pull just as high top notch numbers as PC. No one community have better players, they just have to arrive at the same destination in much different fashion. I prefer the non Ad-On gameplay myself, which is why I sacrifice the QoL Ad-Ons and play on console.

I completely understand people who prefer graphics or want to compete at the highest levels such as trials, why they choose PC. The game simply runs smoother on PC and looks 100x better.

However I have to warn you... be prepared to be treated like a step child from not only some members of the PC community (on these forums) but from Zo$ itself. You will quickly find that the company does little to reach out to either of our console communities at any point other than when it is time to collect ESO Plus memberships dues or they are shelling out a new Crown Store item. Zo$ is making strides as a company, they have made tremendous strides over the last year alone with their product. I hope over the next year or two, they address their interaction with the console community but at this point in time, it is nothing short of disgraceful... which is something I was not prepared for. As I have done more research on the backgrounds on the development team, I admit that I should have anticipated this type of interaction since most come from an old school DAoC (for example) background where they believe "MMOs belong only on PC". So I can understand why consoles are treated like a step children from the company, because they are basically unwanted by the people who develop/run the game. However going into the game at the time of console launch, I did not anticipate this fact and knowing then what I know now, may have altered my decision on which platform to play since I would rather deal with the Ad-On plaque on PC as opposed to the entire community disregard that XB1 and PS4 are shown on a consist basis from the company.

However I have met a TON of great people on XB1. I have had a lot of fun and accomplished almost everything there is in the game. I hope you enjoy XB1 as much as I have and once again, welcome to the community!
