Making Belkarth a "safe zone."

With the majority of crafters having to turn in writs in Belkarth (myself being one), why does it still have a countdown timer to log out from there? I know of nothing that had ever attacked the town or would change the instance of the town once quests had been completed (though I could be wrong). I know it's just a minor irritation, but what are the chances of this ever changing?

I am not quite sure if I understood correctly, but even when you get a countdown to log off you can just press a key (forgot which one) and auto log off.

Obviously you need a count down because you might get attacked by giant scoprions. While in the bank.

It hasn't happened yet, but we practice five times a day for giant scorpion attacks, so that probably has put the scorpions on guard. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

Sounds pretty dangerous to me!

As is most of Tamriel, being ravaged by war and the threat of oblivion around every corner. Yet there manages to be safe zones everywhere else but Craglorn. Even Coldharbour has the Hollow City. I can log out there in an instant. I'm afraid I'm find that place more likely not to have a safe zone...

Like I said, a minor irritation compared to some of the other things going on in-game that are obviously broken. Just thought this could be better discussion than some of the pointless threads going around (I'm talking to you "kicking other players than..." thread).

Hey OP,
Don't play ZOS' game ... after dropping off your writs in Belkarth take your crafter back to your house and log out from there. No countdown timer in the house

Of course you have to sit through 2 more load screens this way but that will just show ZOS your dedication

Agreed. Don't know why the hell this still happens.

If you do your writs on multiple characters, it really adds up.

I'm sure there are more safe zones than just Belkarth, to be checked and amended.
ZOS should do it already, if they didn't there must have been some reason.

These are not advisable, as they don't log you off cleanly and can leave you logged into the server for up to 15 minutes.

I am still waiting for a fix, too. It is super annoying and makes no sense whatsoever. Logging off in Vukhel Guard or Marbruk or Riften does not give me a 10-seconds waiting period, so it should not happen in Belkarth either.

Stable and wayshrine in Vukhel Guard give you an 10 second wait, you have to move 10 meter west for wayshrine.
Yes it makes sense, more as its no enemies nearby you can pull into the area.

Be fair, it's only been 3 years and 3 months, you can't expect it to get done overnight.

Since maps are no longer leveled in itself the whole "max level crafting turn-in only in Belkarth" should be changed in the first place.

It just doesn't feel right.

On console you do realize if you had just switched to that character from another you get the cooldown. If it's your first time switching characters there is no cooldown but after that you get the 10 seconds. This is if you are doing writs on 12 different characters.

I apologize, but I'm a bit confused by this. In order for me to switch characters (on PS4 anyway), I have to log out, then switch to a different character, and log back in on said character. If It's in Belkarth that I log off on, I always get the 10 second cooldown, whether it is my first time doing so or not.

I understood the countdown before One Tam, but when they made it the max tier turn in for writs, they really should have considered changing it then...

Not if you just want to switch characters... Why would you close the whole app, then repeat the the whole entire launch of the app just to switch characters?...

You can in the sense that you can close app if you're done, and not looking to switch characters or anything... but as @Enodoc pointed out earlier, probably not a clean log off...
