Thoughts on not raising the cp cap anymore?

In my honest opinion adding more cp is going to hurt the playerbase due to everyone exactly being the same, now everyone just has enough to pump cp into dmg, defense, everything, if any more is added I think it'd be very bad for the game, discuss.

I say remove the cap and let a person use all there cp they have gained it would certainly be more interesting that's for sure

I am confused by your argument/theory.

By permanently capping CP everyone who played long enough would eventually all be the same level, yet you say not doing this will result in everyone being the same.

This is a role playing game at its heart and RPGs are all about character progression. CP is our only mechanism at present for progression past level 50. I would not be in favor of anything that eliminated character progression.

Not saying CP is perfect or that another progression system might not be better but simply saying "that's it CP 630 till end of life for ESO" is a really bad idea.

Well it's not just about everyone being the same it's also about everyone unlocking everything, what is the point of strategically putting points into the trees when you can put Cp into every tree and not worry about it?

Trust me, you would not want that. The game would be broken with all the 1k cp players.

I agree completely hence why I wish the cap would stop rising.

Even at current max CP you still can't put points into everything you want to or to the extent that you might want. At the present rate the CP max is increased it will take years to reach a point where those at cap can max everything they would like.

No, thanks. I've got almost 1000 cps but I'm against this idea. Simply because I remember how it used to be when cps were uncapped.

I think the opposite, there should be a 'NO-CP CAP' pvp campaign where you can fight VS a CP1400

I feel like I've earned the right to have a few benefits thrown my way for the amount of time I've put into my characters (earning champion points). If not, why even bother having a level-based system?

I also think diminishing returns from spending champion points helps reduce the impact of these benefits in a fair way, and the increased rate of gaining champion points at lower levels helps newer players catch up to people like me that have had a head start (by playing for a couple of years).

I remember when they gave full access to cp. None of the content was fun. It was ridiculously too easy even now it's easy.

Then refund your champion points in PVE and play non-cp campaigns in PVP.

If Champion Points are what's making the game too easy for you then this change alone should add a challenge for you. It also has the benefit of only impacting you and not being a game wide change imposed on others.

The majority of those wanting NO cap probably have a ton of CP and are looking for an advantage, whether in PvP or PvE. I have 850 CP and would be fine if they didn't raise it again, as I have to make some choices. With the front loading, it isn't that far away that I get most of the benefit on anything I would use. Some people say "play the no CP campaign" but if they did away with caps and everyone kept gettting trashed by the same small number with 1,000+ CP, the no CP campaign would fill and the only option would be a CP campaign, giving easy prey for the high CP people.

what's up with the double post up in here?

I agree that there should be some sort of CP cap in order to justify tactical placement of points. If everyone have all CP passives unlocked, what's the point (pun intended) in having CP anyway?

The CP system as a whole needs to be reworked, the band-aid approach of increasing the cap each patch is the best we can hope for right now

    Why?
So all the lowbies could upscale to high level areas with the veteran players like they already do now anyway?

I want to progress my character endlessly,. They should take the cap off. You want to get more powerful... play more.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

The champion system seems like a temporary solution. It doesn't seem like something that can just be raised over and over again. Then it kind of defeats the point and makes it even more daunting for new players to join. I have this feeling they will find some other leveling system because this just isn't sustainable in the long run. But maybe they will end the game when it gets to that point? Who knows.

Sorry but if you have over the current cap, should be allowed to use them. PvP is entirely different story though,a no cap campaign would be hilarious.

I remember when there was no cap. Was not good. It fairly quickly lead to the cap being introduced and the catch up mechanics.

The system as a whole is not sustainable though. If it keeps going the way it is we will continually see power creep> massive nerf>power creep> massive nerf.

Honestly I'd rather have the original Vet Ranks.
