Hi I'm coming back to ESO but when I finally got into the game my character I worked so hard on is gone! I don't really want to start over, I was wondering if there was a way of recovering her? Thanks.

✭First, before you panic, double check that you're on the right server.
If you have the PTS, double check in the launcher that you're on the live server, not the PTS. Then, on the log-in screen, check that you've got the same server (NA versus EU) selected that you did when you made this character.
Just being gone doesn't make your characters disappear. It's possible someone hacked your account, in which case you can submit a ticket here to see if they can retrieve the character: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com
