Is dual wielding good for a dunmer mag Dk build?

So I just made a new character and now I am using a destruction staff but I notice a lot of solo players use a restoration staff on their second bar but I don't want to have because it may not be as fun as having dual wield weapons on the second bar but since dual wielding is focused more on stamina I'm not sure, I would appreciate an answer please.

    Resto on a magdk is for scrubs, absolutely pointless. Embers+Harness is all you need to survive.

    OT Dw is not good at all for Magdk, just go double destroy, Inferno, Inferno. repeat You DO NOT need a resto. Keep embers up and you'll never have an issue with staying alive against anything outside of trials.

    For PvP 1 hand and shield with Resto staff is BiS for solo/small scale but for large scale you rather go double 1 hand and shield.

    For PvE Dual wield and Destro is BiS if nothing changed since I stopped PvE.

    I dual wield... so I can run two 5 pieces and a monster set.
    Sun, Burning spellweave, Valkan.

    I have never run a trial so I don't have any of the slayer gear and farming drives me nuts... I did enough CoA just to get jewerly to farm it for weapons D: sounds like a nightmare.

    You don't need resto I easy solo world bosses with just this.

    In PvP it's pretty fun to combine Elf Bane and Silks of the Sun. I used to do this by weapon swapping back when they didn't come in all 7 armor slots plus weapons, and certainly not a shield. Just a maul and a fire staff. Now I have a couple nice Sun shields and lots of Elf Bane pieces. Fire DK with lots of Thaumaturge makes that 2 extra seconds of Fire DoTs pretty nice.

    Go for it. And without an effective gap closer and no ranged attacks you're dead meat against a ranged attacker. S&B is actually shite on a magdk.

    Dual wield swords no longer provides more spell damage than 2-hander or staff. The purpose would be not to use DW stam abilities, but if you need it to complete a second set and want more spell damage than S&B.
    S&B is actually shite on a magdk.

    Err...you do realize Helping Hands was changed to flat value, so mag DK gets a lot more stam back now and stam DK gets less than they used to. Not to mention mag DK can spam Earthen Heart abilities (which all cost magicka).

    Dual wield swords is only viable because it increases the damage done.

    No dual wield abilities should be used tho. It's simply there to increase your damage done on you magicka skills.
