Stamplar Stamina Issues

Since Morrowind dropped especially, I've been have sustain issues. From what I read on other posts, others are as well. Instead of running a second dps 5 piece I've been running Marksman for more regen. I'd rather wear other sets. My Stamplar is an Imperial but I'm wondering if it would be beneficial for me to race change to Bosmer for the massive stamina regen. I know most guides push for redguard or Khajit but those races don't fit how I envision my character. So, would it be smart on a stamplar to try and fix the sustain issues by going bosmer over Imperial? I ask because I've never played a Bosmer and that 21% regen sounds good, but is it?

The content you play matters, for PvE groups you don't really need regen for sustain, just build a heavy attack or 2 in your rotation. For PvP you need to be able to self sustain as you do for something like vMA.

At the end of the day, the race / class combo only matters in min/max situations, you can sustain any class with any race if you adapt your play style accordingly.

If you race change, Redguard is a better choice sustain-wise (and damage-wise) for stamplars than Bosmer.

But as Zvorgin said, it really depends on what kind of content you're aiming for. Race matters less after Morrowind than it did before for stamina DPS players, since no matter your race you're going to have to build heavy attacks into your rotation.
7-day PVP campaign regular 2016-2019, Flawless Conqueror. MagDK/stamplar/stamwarden/mageblade. Requiem, Legend, Knights of Daggerfall. Currently retired from the wars; waiting on performance improvements.

You can keep imperial, just add morw heavy attacks into your rotation

I really play all types the content. I've never really focused on one much. I can see from everyone's responses that more heavy attacks is the key. Thanks for the replies. I guess I always knew that was it but I was hoping there was a way around doing too many. I tend to do way more on my templar than I do on my stam warden. I guess that's why I was hoping Bosmer would help more.

You are using repentance right? I use endurance for more regen and health, that way you can run the dubious drink, more regen there. I also run for super high Stam, have 42k as a kajit. With around 1.1k regen, that is more than enough.

Yep I'm running repentance but when I'm in a group fighting big boss mobs is when I really notice the quick stam loss. I just started using the dubious drink and it helps for sure. I just hate buying it. Shame I can't get the recipe anymore.

You should be ok sustaining with 3 heavy attacks.

I've been forcing myself to rotate more in and it's definitely helping. After years of not having to do it, it's just going to take more getting used to lol. Thanks for the advice.

Work in 1 heavy attack every 2 rotations will usually keep you topped off well, also don't be afraid to abuse your potions -- after first rotation, pop a stam pot (just use the cheapest/drop one, not crafted) for the extra 20% recovery, and keep that up as often as you can. Great time to slip in a heavy attack is near the end of Power of the Light -- get in a good heavy attack with a buffed single target skill right in time for it to pop that stored damage. And don't be afraid to pump in bleed stacking with cleave and using an Axe -- the bleed damage on axes is actually really good (when it procs).
