How to not hit like a wet noodle in PvE?

After years of PvP, I finally did my first pledge.

I thought I did OK - I didn't die but the boss was tough to kill. Some of my guildies laughed because what works in no-cp PvP, does NOT work in veteran PvE. One source of amusement was my damage. In PvP, run 2 sharpened daggers of Hundings Rage and they are perfectly fine at dissecting players very quickly. But here in this veteran PvE dungeon I was hitting with the strength of a cool breeze.
The guildie who convinced me to try the stupid PvE told me that our seasoned guild PvE'ers do 60K damage. I have no idea what that means but I would like to know how to do that amount of damage. My main character is a melee (DW/2H) stamblade. What skills/gear/cp setup should I be running to do decent damage?

    Few quick tips.

    - trade 2h with a bow.
    - use ground effects, dots and a spamable.
    - divine gear with thief mondus
    - try to aim for abit more physical penetration.
    - good gear setup easy to get. Spriggan / hundings with validreth, selene or krahgs monster set
    Cleared Trials:
    - vAA HM - vHRC HM - vSO HM - vMoL HM - vHoF HM - vAS HM - vCR HM -

Thanks for the reply and advice! What traits on the weapons and bow? Also divines or something else?

atm all divines, but infused could be slightly better next patch on large pieces,

re weapon traits sharpened atm, and for solo play (vma) next patch, but other traits may be stronger in group environments, assuming the correct buffs/debuffs are active

The DPS score is basically a calculation of how long it takes to kill a DPS dummy 60K would be under full trail situations with every buff/debuff available to you active, throwing a figure like that at a PvP player is just pretentious tbh

there are many guides online for stamblades, and while the gear choices traits are likley to chage next patch the skill choices/rotation will stay the same

TL:DR everything is changing next patch, dont waste your money changing gear now, use the time to practice your rotation

On my Stamblades, for PvE, I got DW on the front bar (daggers with sharpened and precise or infused/precise). On the backbar, I use Bow.

My armor is all medium with divines, using the Thief mundus for all max crit - as opposed to Impen. for PvP.

You should be laying down your Bow DoTs along with Caltrops, poison shot, etc. Then switching to front bar to dps and renew DoTs as neccessary to maintain constant DPS.

A good thread on Stamblade DPS is:

Sustained 20 to 30 k damage is more the ball park, I've got through pretty much all the games content except pvp, as I'm violently allergic, never been kicked from a group. 60k would require a lot of group coordination and favourable circumstance. It's just bragging as others have said.

So many times I've been in a group when some smug git has come into a normal dungeon bragging about doing 50 K damage and ended up being flattened by the first pack of trash mobs because they have a paltry 15 k health :D
