Crown Store question, few questions

What are Crown Crates? Is it possible to know what are the potential rewards out of it?

When accessing Crown Store there is a section called Crown Crates. Everything there is purchasable with Crown Gems. Is it possible to buy Crown Gems with real money? If not then how can I get more Crown Gems?

I had three boxes of Crown Crates and one of the rewards was called 'Crown Research Scroll, All, 1 Day'. Is it possible to specifically buy this item like other things such as the experience scroll?

Crown Crates are generally bad, RNG based in-game gambling for cosmetic and consumable items.
All cosmetic and consumables items that you have a chance to obtain are the common, legendary, apex etc. items.

Crown Gems are only obtainable when you either A ) Trade in consumable and a few cosmetic items after unboxing them or
B ) Getting a duplicate cosmetic item you already own. You cannot outright buy Crown Gems.

While I can't remember offhand if there are the "All, 1 Day" scrolls in the crown store, you can buy individual ones for Woodworking, Blacksmithing and Tailoring etiher with Crowns from the Crown Store, writ vouchers from Master Writs (Rolis Hlaalu sells some), or players that have bought some and are trying to sell them for gold.

The "all 1 day" researching scrolls cannot be bought with crowns or gems. You have to win them. You can trade them in for gems though.

Here is a good source of info on them: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Crown_Crates

They are definitely a polarizing feature: some hate them and some love them. My personal take is that if you are open to just getting random cosmetics and not picky or have returned after a long absence, they can net you a lot of stuff cheap. But, if you are after an Apex mount (or worse yet, a particular one) you will have to pay dearly for it unless you are very lucky.

One new feature this season was three mounts that are very rare and can only be won directly and not bought by crates. This did upset some people for sure.

EDIT: Regarding the research scrolls you can find in guild stores, they come from people buying them with writ vouchers. The one difference is that those have a 20 hour countdown before they can be used again. The crown store or crown crate ones can be used repeatedly.

I have not found any Crown Research Scroll, All, 1 Day scrolls in the crown store anywhere....and trust me, I have searched! I believe they might be hidden like some of the mounts and that super special sweet roll. The only possible way to get them is to buy crown crates.

To me, it seems like people either really, really hate crown crates or really, really love crown crates. If you have self control and don't mind the 'gambling' label the crates seem to generate, then you are probably safe buying some if you can afford it. If you have no self control, I wouldn't really get started on them if I were you. I like the crates myself, but I'd like it better if they would just put things in the crown store and leave them there.

Not sure if this helps you at all. You can buy the individual research scrolls in the crown store. I think they are 400 crowns each. The ones you buy from the Master Writ vendor have a cool down time of 20 hours.
