How many fps should I be experiencing?

Tapap
Tapap
I'm new to pc and I don't know what to expect.

Gtx 1050 ti
Core i5 @3.3ghz
8gb ddr3 ram

Currently all settings on high except shadows and water which are on medium. I'm currently getting 100fps in the wilds and 45-55fps in a major city.

Is that ok or should I drop some settings? My end goal is sewers and top side large scale pvp

I don't know much about computers, but I am not sure if you are bragging or not. I mean that is pretty good. I am not getting close to 60 and I find it good. So if you are serious, why would you think this is bad and need to drop down? What am I not understanding here that you are having problems with 100 FPS and need more. I would say 45-55 FPS is great as well.

Then again, what do I know. Would like to understand though.
Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

If you want a slight buff to your current PVE framerate, go to Task Manager and change the priority of your ESO exe to either Above Average or High.

You should be all right in the sewers, but throwing money at client-side hardware will never solve the Cyrodiil PVP bottleneck. You'll just have a higher resolution view of the sputtering. Don't expect large scale PVP to perform well for you until ZOS finally gets it to perform well for everybody.

50-60 FPS is perfectly fine. If you drop to 25 and below, you will notice it.

But in the end, only you can decide if you feel the performance is good enough.

Actual performance is far more important than statistical fps.

You should get the level of performance where you don't have a clue what your fps is because you have no reason to check it.

If you're not happy with the level of performance then adjust your settings (and addons) until you are, or until you realise that you can't do any more to improve things and that an upgrade is therefore in order.

Even with my granpappy i5-2500k @ 4ghz, gtx 980Ti Hybrid and 16gb RAM, I'm unable to get more than 45-50 fps in many of the cities. Feels like there's a memory leak though, as performance erodes over a couple hours play time.

    SLI GTX 970 GPU

and i get the same performance in cities as the OP. I think your getting really good performance for that gpu.

I also get clear FPS drop over time which is only fixed by restarting the game. Trying to find a fix but lots of people have it but nothing they said has worked.

EDIT: PVP is gonna be horrible performance anyway. As soon as that zerg shows up. Sewers seems to be similar performance to the standard open outdoor world FPS

Consoles max out at 30FPS, just so you know.

In PvP, we average 10FPS, with draw distance (automatically) set to minimum, and low quality rendering (no detail on buildings, some don't render at all......)

The game is more processor heavy than GPU heavy.

Upgrading to an i7 will yield at least a 10 fps increase, maybe more.

i7s are absolutely essential for gaming. That is the hard truth.

Depending on the time of day and how tired ZoS' hamsters are, your FPS can range between [LOAD SCREEN] and "Please check your connection."

I got a fps or 18-32 depznding when in city or in the wild. It is crazy low i guess ! This is when using high quality. I did turn off everything else except lowest quality of shadows and grass (i like grass)

Normally i am at 35-40 when using medium quality

I have to say the 20-30 lags a bit but is playable i guess. I dont do pvp yet ...

I am using a mac 🖥 by the way

    Is 25 normal?
Any ideas how to improve the fps ingame or outside the game?
