Home vs. Guest in campains

I'm totally new to pvp and wanted to participate in Mayhem eveny (as well as a lot of other pve players). When I tried to enter the Cyrodiil I had to pick home or guest option. I picked guest since I had no idea what I'm doing. I tried to find an answer on web later on about what is the difference between two and I did not find a clear answer. Can anybody give me simple breakdown what is difference between entering campaign as guest or making it home?

SASQUATCH0✭✭✭✭In your home campaign, all the alliance points you earn go towards an end-of-campaign reward for when that campaign ends. Be it 30 day or 7 day. you will get more rewards from 30 day campaign1 -

✭✭✭✭If you aren't planning on sticking around in PvP and going for big rewards, it is fine to go in on a campaign as guest. Home campaign just calculates your score for the duration of the campaign to determine where you are on the leaderboards and send you an end of campaign reward. Other than that it doesn't matter, so guest on any campaign you like, you will be able to pick up AP and Midyear Mayhem reward boxes just the same

✭✭✭✭✭It is also easier to change your Guest Campaigns, you can do that every 3 days.
Home Campaigns, I am not sure I could ever change it, but I think there is a way to and not have it cost you a bunch of Gold.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Just to clarify, it's top 2% gets gold quality rewards and top 10% gets purple quality rewards.BawKinTackWarDs PS4/NA0
