Mysterious bounty - Partners in Crime

So, once more I made a new character and went through the above mentioned quest without accummulating any bounty. Yet, asap as I arrive in abbah's landing, I have a 17 gold bounty.
What's causing it? Is my character just too damb good looking for the guardsthat they put a bounty on my head? If so.. really? 17 gold is all my beauty's worth?! =\

If you really believe you didn't incur any bounty during the quest, report it with an in-game /bug ticket.

there's no point in doing so, given that the bounty is gone in a matter of minutes. I'm simply wondering if others have the same issue and it's a known bug. not to mention. i'm a master thief. i do not incur bounties... i've played that bloody quest two dozen times or more..

You mean Master Thief on another character? That is just a title only and doesn't transfer between characters.

You can't advance the current character in the Thieves Guild without this quest first ... so the bounty-reduction and veil of shadows passives won't be unlocked yet.

At any rate, since you posted in the forums it's obviously bothering you ... probably worth the 15 seconds it takes to send an in-game bug ticket.

update:
Made another new character together with a friend and the same happened anew to both of us. no bounty at the end of the quest prior to entering the boat to hew's bane and asap as we loaded into the city we both had bounties.

I ran through this mission today for the ninth time. As always there was the randomness of the bounty when arriving in Abah's Landing.

Today I had zero bounty throughout the mission and until after the loadscreen for the Abah's Landing docks. When I arrived I had a 231 gold bounty which would be a 30 minute penalty for a character without TG passives yet.

Maybe the Captain of your boat is a known criminal, you got spotted getting off the boat and received the bounty as guilt by association. It doesn't pay to hang with the shady types.

Have done the initial quest without issue and without getting a bounty. Only when I've been spotted did I get a bounty.
