Error 1005 again...

Last update i had error 1005 (insufficient permission) and i couln't play the game for some days. After reinstalling the game many times it finally worked.
Now i have the same problem again... please help... i can't go trough this every update....

    have you tried repairing the launcher from the launcher "options" menu?

    I have the same problem! Happens every patch and takes forever to fix.. I got to constantly use the repair launcher.. I always dread patch up dates cus of this. Freaking annoying. Worst launcher ever!

    Try restarting your computer then hit repair.. seem to work for me.

    Having the same problem. This is the first time it's happened to me. Game was working fine yesterday.
    I'm in the middle of a repair right now. Wow, this sucks that this happened in the middle of a holiday event. :/ Very unhappy right now.

    Check out the other thread on this. Seems to be a process of updating/repairing/rebooting that seems to work...eventually.

    Yep. Still having this same issue also.

    I figured they would have this fixed by now too because it's a pretty big problem.

    I tried repairing this morning but I still get the access denied error and the play button is still non-responsive.

    When the button is u responsive it means the patch is not fully downloaded yet. You have to keep repairing and restarting. Sucks but that's seems to be the way to do it.

    I've already lost count how many times I have repaired and restarted. Doesn't seem to be working.

    I guess if it's not fixed in next couple of days I'll try to re install.

    Repaired and restarted about a hundred times and now it finally works.

    Thanks "developers" !!! Great tech going on here....for the hundredth week in a row.

    Jesus. Good luck getting any more money from me...Cuz it clearly goes to good use.

    Good thing I can blow cash on plenty of other games that are actually playable!

    Uninstalled the game, restarted the computer, then downloaded the game again... wow.
    I don't want to do this everu update, please.

    Again a patch day ... a long server downtime ... and when going to try to play ... Error 1005 ... need ONE MORE TIME to repairs, restart, rapair, restart, repair .... maybe reinstall (12 hours or more ...) ...

    Incompetence at it's finest! ZOS really needs to get their acts together! This has been a known issue for a very long time and I too suffer from this EVERY damn patch and maintenance day. It's unacceptable at this point. I won't be spending any more money on this game and will only play as a free user until this crap is fixed.

    Why is repairing the launcher the only solution? Can they not give the launcher a patch to fix this problem? My game has perfectly updated for a long time and started doing this Error 1005 about 3 months ago. EVERY patch however minor now requires me to do a repair, and for SOME reason my game downloads all 50GBs instead of only identifying the corrupt/missing files

    I'm getting Error 1005 again, today, too. My game has this problem now EVERY time there is a patch. As much as I don't want to create multiple threads about this, maybe we should start making multiple threads so they'll notice and fix it.

    Another patch another few days of error 1005...

    and still no response from any developer about this.

    I haven't been playing since the last time this happened. I figure if they can't be bothered to address the issue, then I won't be bothered to spend money on this game. There are just too many other games that actually work....(IE: Every other game).

    Complete incompetence on the part of the team responsible for the patching. I (and my entire guild) unsubscribed because all of us have to deal with this every single patch day. My brother still plays and he has to call me every patch to help him try to fix it.


    The level of incompetence demonstrated over a series of patches now spanning months is unacceptable!

    Hire people who can get the job done and get rid of the ones you currently have or continue to loose business. Not acceptable.

    My GF would like to contribute to this issue.
    What doesn't work:
    • Repair
    • Run as admin
    • Reinstall and restart
    Searched through the forums and nothing else helps really.
