A Few Tips for New PVP Players During Midyear Mayhem

- If you would like to join a group in Cyrodiil, simply go into text chat, change the message to "zone," then type "LFG". A good deal of the time someone will send you an invite to their group. There are a lot of nice people out there who will take you under their wing, help you understand group and capture mechanics, let you use their siege until you acquire your own, and help keep you alive.

- Hold block and try not to stand too close to allies when you are capturing a flag. "Bombers" like to show up with the Destruction Staff ultimate and try to take out as many players as they can, all at once, and flags are high danger areas because many of you are all standing in one spot, together. The "Bombers" will likely be wearing a set called Vicious Death that basically turns you and/or your allies into grenades that explode on one another upon death. Hold block, spread out, and be ready to disperse.

- If you happen to have armor pieces with the Impenetrable trait on them, then try to wear them because they help you survive better. Critical damage taken from other players is reduced while wearing Impenetrable, and will make a difference in your survival. Try to wear at least 4 Impenetrable pieces, if you can.

- You can highlight an enemy player by pressing and holding the crouch button whilst targeting them, which allows you to track them through walls or other visual barriers. This can also be helpful for tracking the whereabouts of a particular group of players, provided that the person you targeted stays with their group. (Note: the tracker highlight will disappear if the target gets too far out of range or enters sneak).

    Here's a few more:
    1. If you're a magicka class, you need to be ready to dodgeroll. In most cases, dodge rolling is far more effective in PvP than blocking. Try to have at least 10K stam. This is the biggest weakness I see in new PvPers.
    2. If you're in a fight, move around! You don't need to just stand there and let us wail on you.
    3. If you're in a group, stay with your group! That means don't chase down that lone enemy player over the ridge... I've gotten so many kills these last two days by baiting newbies into chasing me :)
    4. Because of the fast pace of combat, damage shields, blocking, and dodge rolling need to be proactive and anticipatory rather than reactive.
    5. If you don't want to get ganked on your way to join your group, stay off the major roads and pathways in cyrodil! The backwoods wilderness is much safer
    6. Reapply CC every 6 seconds! If you get stunned, feared, or knocked back, you'll get that glowy white tornado thing around your feet. That's the indicator that you're immune to hard CC (crowd control). If your enemy doesn't have that immunity, hit them with CC!
    7. Resto ult is OP, even on DPS classes. Use it!

    That's not true...
There are no so called bombers in cyrodill, not even one... especially not me...
Stack on those flags don't worry the spot is safe and sorcerers can even stay without shields...

Yes the closer you are the safer make sure no buffs or up or block it helps the flag flip faster.

Play the objective, if you are in Domination don't waste your time fighting people around, just focus on capturing zones or defend them. If you are in Capture the Flag, defend your flag, capture the enemy's flag or defend the flag carrier.

A lot of people lose because they don't play the objectives, they are just messing around against other players and forget to play the objective.
