ZOS didn't give free chairs. They made a programming mistake (again) and as is standard practice, used to PR department instead of the QA department to fix the "error."

Last Friday evening, I saw the thrones for sale at various prices. Best deal I saw was 200 for 9,000g. I got twelve thinking at some point I might have a grand dining room and could use them. Otherwise, I might try to sell a couple a few months from now to some newbies, but I don't think they'll sell for much. But, as you say, they were free, so even getting 10g for them is more than you paid!
