I haven't played PVP for a long time. What I only knew and usually did was following a big zerg group, hiding behind the people and use Jesus beam. The pvp must change a lot, is it still working?

✭✭Should be fairly easy for anyone to earn at least around 50-60k AP/hr during this double AP event. You might want to install My XP View add on to check how much you are earning per hour.
If you have trouble killing enemy players by yourself, you can try healing ally players, killing enemies with siege weapons, repairing walls etc. Mainly try to get to any keeps that your faction is capturing, as you will get 12k or more AP at the moment the flag flips, and a bit less for capturing outposts and resources.
Also you can get a 20% AP bonus which lasts 1 hour if you kill any boss inside a Cyrodiil delve. This stacks with the Midyear Mayhem bonus.6 -

It's been supplanted by the sorc execute as the kill steal technology of PvP.2 -

It stacks but be wary of delves in cyro. Not because of players in them but sometimes you can get stuck in endless loading screens trying to leave, or get kicked from cyrodiil entirely. So weigh it out if the AP bonus is worth that risk - I heard a whole group got stuck in there in the NA Prime time last night.0 -
