Wearing 2 sets???

I'm a mag DK. I have a full set of silk of the sun armor. Can I get get spinners head/shoulder and jewelry and get BOTH benefits? WIll i see an increase in DPS? Right now I have Illambris and willpower jewelry.

You will get both set bonuses. I don't know about the DPS increase since I am a tank

Spinners is next to useless in group PvE (or even solo if you run Elemental Drain) if you're using sharpened weapons because you'll end up over-penetrating.

yeah its a really good comboe for PvP if you dont have any issues with sustain and dont mind running light armor and being squishy.

but being squishy and not having sustain or big problems for mag dks... so..

You can use two sets, you can not use two sets and an monster set unless you go dual wield or S&B.

Yes you can and with a monster set you can get 3 set bonuses if 1h an shield or duel wield on one bar .

It's possible to get 3 set bonuses if you dual wield. I currently run Svarra's Scale, Leviathan, and Selene's on my NB.

Something to keep in mind...

Dungeon and trial mobs have about 18k resistances. Anymore penetration than that has no effect.

Sharpened weapons- 5160 penetration
light armor passives- 4884 penetration
Major Breach- 5280 penetration

That's 15,324 penetration right there, which will happen in pretty much any dungeon or trial. With Spinner's you'd already be wasting over 1k penetration and that's not including healers (or stamplars) running Power of the light for Minor Breach or tanks running Alkosh.

What about wearing burning spellweave AND sun? Thats 2 proc sets...will they work together?

The only possible way to run 2 full 5pc sets, with a 2pc monster set.. is to run with a dual wield build. As a magicka class this is not possible unless you want to sacrifice end game damage potential.

That's a combo that would synergize very well with a magDK. If you don't have access to Infallible Aether or Moondancer for Minor Slayer I'd say go for it.

Yeah, the standard Meta set combo for magicka users has been a 2-piece monster set, a 5-piece gear set, and 4 pieces of a Trials dps set (4th piece on the front bar staff), with a vMA staff on the back bar. You can certainly wear two 5 piece sets with only one monster set piece, if you prefer.

That's true and I actually run Spinner currently on my Templar with precise weapons. It's probably a small DPS loss but my parses are inconsistent enough that I can't tell. Next patch I'm thinking I'll drop Spinner and Thief mundus stone for the penetration mundus, not sure what set though, maybe back to Julianos.

For extra damage resistance, I sometimes run Magicka characters with a 5 pc light set and a 5 pc heavy set, of which 3 are jewelry and 2 are heavy armour.

Depending on your character, you can also use one hand and shield, or 2 one handed swords/daggers to allow 2 x 5 pc sets and a monster set, considering you then have 12 slots.

my Altmer Magden is currently using:

5 pc TBS with shadow/thief mundus
5 pc Necropotence (belt, glove, and jewelry)
Sarpened destro staffs

Like the way its working so far, probably have to change some things next update.
