my first pvp event day ..... as a nightmare

I discovered pvp recently, and with friends, guild and husband, so far i enjoyed it. So to be honnest i was really happy to participate in this event.

unfortunatly, that was without counting all the bugs and non-sens from ZoS
- i totalise a number of queue of 1750 for playing since 4pm to 22.30 pm est
- i had less loading screens than usually but still had them
- i had a strange bug never encountered : died from a player, game registered it as a fall, giving the possibility to rezz *here* by myself, or wayshrine. But of course, i could not use any of them, and had to kill the client
- After a while, around 9pm, i started to get more loading screens. Decided to be patient and go on and on until 22pm when i decided to go do some delves to complete my achievement. And now i am stuck into the delve. as the game keep saying i am already in queue for that instance, and after a while informed me than my campaign was full. So decided to let the mob kill me to may be get to the shrine and leave Cyrodill. Hell no, died, but still stuck in the instance. Had again to kill my client.

What i thought as a good moment with friends, was in finae more than a nightmare. Fearing all the time to be kicked, and to have more queue, etc etc

Honnestly, ZoS admit that you totally messed up. We all warned you. And you did not listen. We knew all this would happen. Unfortunatly this is even worse.

Of course i did get some advance in my achievements for the event, but with no fun at all.

So sorry, but i can not thank you for this.

I never thought i would do this, when i posted my feeling some days ago. Though as i was honnest writing it, i have to be honest after some days

For me the event started very badly, then bugged (had to spend 100 000ap just for a bug), and suddenly with my guild and friends, the day was bright, full of laughs and deaths (mine and EP/AD too) because we went all on the same campaign.

if only you had read what i said .... i only enjoy pvp with my friends, my pvp guild and my husband. I have absolutely no interest to join for pvp people i do not know. I do enjoy to meet people in PVE but pvp is another matter. At least for me.

And for sur with the spirit of yours i would not join at all you team, even if you were the best and only one. YOU are the reason i want friends i know.

At first an event is to have fun. My fun is not to leave my home pvp to get another one with people i dont know.

Hope that this time you have understood.

If the event had to be like this, then ZoS should have informed us. And for sur i would have not participate at all.


And even like this i managed to already do 20/50 kills, and 4 achievements, included IC. But it was not fun.

And I presume you mean campaigns? There only being 2 servers I know of. At least know what you're talking about if you are going to be so disparaging.

He was a bit abrasive, however does have a point. And I don't mean that harshly.

Playing another campaign does not mean not playing with your friends, you just all need to move to a quieter server. It's what one of my guilds has done, and we have not queues at all yet nor crashes or surprisingly load screens

I appreciate your point, I'm sure ZOS did forecast, I'm sure they are partly using this as a load test also. And perhaps they are using it to encourage people to try other servers like 7 day and No CP.

I guess what I'm trying to say in a much softer way than the other guy, is yes I can see your problems however rather than queue with thousands of others maybe try approaching it a different way. Encourage your group to try a quiet server whilst queing for your main one, and see how you go.

Unless you are the top 2% does the home leader board matter? No litres will hit the 100 million AP this week so if fun is your goal, adapt id say and you can still enjoy.

Depending on which platform someone is playing, there were no "quieter" campaigns for some of us. Just a nice massive queue on each and every one of them.

This event was started on the wrong day . At least for PC NA . The main campaign for my guild is Vivec and we worked hard all month to stay competitive . The even flooded the server with bugs and lag with players crashing everywhere . This all happens with 12 hrs to go on the closest campaign score I can remember in a long time between all 3 factions . There was no switching campaigns for these guilds invested so heavily . We are all stuck battling these problems . This was no way to end such a good campaign ! It should of started on Friday for us so people could move around and not sacrifice a months work .

So the op has a point . This was a very bad event start for a lot of players . ZOS has to own that and make improvements if they want to retain PVP players or at least retain general players during events .

There are three proper campaigns currently without limiting rulesets for newbies like noCP or nonVet.

And there is absolutely zero reason to force people to play on another campaign than their home campaign. PvP is a social event, nothing in this game demands quick thinking and teamplay as much as competitive AvA in an organized group.

It is the same as if ZOS randomly denied access to trials for certain guild members with the band-aid hint "Just run the trial with other people instead, people you don't know and have no interest in playing with, as we don't have any interest in providing an environment where you can play what you want with your friends."

Yeah, wonder how great that would work out.

On Vivec i was placed 659 in queue yesterdey evening, around 10 PM.
I decided to try to enter Shor, my guest 7 days campaign. Was placed 352 in queue.
I tried to switch my guest campaign and queued for the other 7 day campaign (i don't even remember the name) and I was placed 65 on queue. I was able to enter after about 10 mins.

Yesterday evening on PC-EU it was impossible to find any campaign without queue.

Part of my pvp guild went on a no-cp, when i wanted to travel to them, some were having over 300 queue ... after having so much myself, i was really not in the mood to move again to get more time in queue
We (husband and myself) tried to group with them earlier but of course the grouping was broken ....

So i did try, i think i was really in good will, but after all that i was really tired and sad

I was getting into the sub-level 50 campaign at primetime with no problems. It played well, with no lag, loading screens or anything but had pretty-much full populations. Disconnected at one point and got straight back in despite it saying pop was full.

I dont have access anymore to the sub level if you mean the campaign below 50.

A lot of the time a blunt and honest awnser is required on these forums. QQ fests will go on for pages with no logic or reason.

There is a limited number of people that can fit into one server, this server had a q time before the event. What did you think would happen during event? ZOS even added a surprise pvp server for the expected increase of the volume of players. I got to enjoy small scale pvp during prime time thanks to this!

When you are at a keep with 200+ players running around it there will be lag. That's is just going to happen. Rubber banding at 2fps used to be the norm and not being dropped meant you were lucky!

ZOS did amazing making a 50 kill requirement for this event. If you want that title, learn to PVP.

There is this cool thing called a "Guest Campaign." You can change it every 3 days.

In shore I got a 57k D tick in 30 mins of defending a home castle. That would almost cover your cost to rehome!

You seeem to forget that the server SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY QUEUE at all, event or not. Going in guest campain does not count if you want to be in leaderboard even, so for some people moving has no interest. You receive even a warning when you do this, as only your home campaign is counting. So you work on your home campaign, hoping for a good reward at the end, and you will receive zero or few, because what you did the following days was on guest campain .....

When you want to be honnest, report all the case and all the differences. Not everyone is as you, not everyone is as me. I dont know you and i dont know why your pvp, when i do pvp i just want to have fun with friends, nothing more. And when something is broken, dont ask me to accept it. I play for over 35 years now, i saw different games and different Cies, i try my best to not agress but sometimes the cup is over.

For now, the only answer i wish and i know i will never get, is from ZoS.

Sorry thats clearly ridiculous...

A little bit of a queue yes, nobody wants to be on a server with nobody else there!

But the queues everybody saw last night were in the thousands in total per platform/server.

Whilst I generally think ZoS has a great idea with these events, and they are coming up with some very good ideas for the content for them, this was 100% predictable and totally avoidable.

They knew the usual queues, and could easily anticipate a huge surge in people going in to PvP. The recentish double AP event would have given base data for that, and they ended up opening an extra campaign there as well if memory serves.

They did well in jumping on it & opening Xarxes so quick... lets just hope we get one more campaign today ready for the weekend, and then free campaign respecs for the rest of the event in Mondays maintenance.

They need to try and be a bit more pro-active rather than reactive with these events is all.

I do not agree with you.(Ask any player if having a queue for pvp is something right ..... i could admit to enter the area may be, but once you are in, there is no reason you got kicked by load screens, and get new queue each time you die or use a shrine.

I can't recall any event, DLC or new contents going smoothly for the first few days, week, or so in ESO. Yes, lots of peeps crying on text/zone chats on being on the lengthy queue waitlist or being kicked from the queue after a lengthy waiting period. Well, that blows, but I'm kind of glad I'm not into PvP. Sure, I'm missing on another chance to rack up AP, but I'm ok with it. Those that are able to queue in and enjoy it.. hey, good for you guys.
