You were not despawning, so they suspected that you had a nearby team mate. So their situational awareness was on point. Though in the end their combat effectiveness was sub-par.

Why wouldn't you corpse camp? If they don't respawn it means they may try to rez and not have to cross half the map again. Limiting enemy movement is a required part of Cyrodil.

Seems valid tactic to me. Why would you let an enemy res?

I am perplexed by your outrage over this. If bodies don't release, it's reasonable to assume that they are waiting for nearby allies to rez them. It makes sense to camp the bodies and kill these potential rezzers. All factions do this.

Is your counter argument really that people should walk away and allow you back in the fight or threaten the objective?

That is the clear gap in their plan. Stealth camping is much more effective.

But shouldn't little zerglings be on their merry way on to that super important objective to play the map and all that, instead of wasting their time body camping one player?
Especially since small-scale players don't even matter in the Alliance War, no?
Surely it's limiting their movement too if they just sit there, spamming caltrops 10 times in a row, in the hopes of catching that ONE other player.

while I do not defend or partake in the corpse camping.

one players these days is terribly annoying. going behind enemy lines and flipping resources and flaging keeps is quite the annoyance to the overall war effort, especially when they flee at the first sign of a fight coming there way (or just trying to attract groups to kill, like in the video)

its like an annoying little fly that you just cannot seem to swat, always buzzing around taking stuff and running, killing or fleeing, flagging and bolting away.

I would t bag the crap out of em if I caught em too.

Then I'd say small groups/duos like that are quite good for the Alliance if they cause so much distress within the enemy ranks. ;)
Also - has it ever occurred that some of us do that in the (vain sometimes) hope that we can find some okay fights? There is only so little you can do/go in Cyro as far as small scale goes, unless you plan on zerg surfing and calling it "solo".
Yes sometimes we poke too much, yes if i take those resources and/or flag a keep, I am fully aware that I might get zerged down. But if I want to come back and pester - no amount of body camping will prevent that. :p

I love hiding by the unreleased.

If a fallen enemy is willing to be my bait, thanks imo.

I also don't release if I think that my corpse is being stalked, and there's nobody coming to help me, and the situation coincides with me needing to afk for a few.

EP btw (usually), not that it matters at all in this era of the game.

If i know my body is being watched i'll just go get a drink of water and chill for a good while.....The only time I wait around (unless i'm in a group and my group mates WANTS to camp bodies) is for that sweet d tick.

    Oh dear...

Erm... You know that this is perfectly normal and happens everywhere right? Like I have even had people in raids I commanded not res because it's a great tactic for wasting enemies time whilst they camp.

If someone doesn't release, you can be pretty sure they have an ally nearby, which means kills.

I legitimately can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. What you're describing is known as "irregulars." Small harassing forces operating behind enemy lines to sow chaos and distract enemy forces is a real combat tactic. It's incredibly aggravating, but it works. Keeps you distracted, off balance, while the real forces move in. Under the best circumstances, when it's executed properly, you don't even respond to the real offensive, because you're convinced it's just three guys and a goat, again.

    Yep, we do.

    But we:

    1) Stealth

    2) Don't use a few dozen players to do it, rendering our faction significantly open to a keep being taken or an outpost if it's near where the camping is taking place.

I normally do it with about 3-5 players, but I don't sit there forever. Pointless. I have other things to do.

I like when you get the guy who runs up, stands in front of your corpse seemingly pondering it, then decides it's nothing and runs out of render distance.

But then he comes back like 3 minutes later like "dude, you're still here?"

I stay dead far longer than I should because situations like that greatly amuse me.
