Converting or Transferring Progress from Standard to Steam Version [Returning Player]

So I've been thinking of going back to ESO again since I really miss this game so much but for various reasons I haven't.
  • One, it's the hassle of payment for purchasing DLC's and other stuffs since my game is Retail which was bought from the store back during release where payments can't be made via steam funds which can be reloaded easily in my Country but instead, I can only pay via (Pre-paid; the only one I have) VISA which I have to wait 1-2 business days before the cash is processed and not to mention the additional Tax.
  • Two, it's the Pricing plus Tax when buying Crows and buying DLC's from official ESO website where steam on the other hand had cheaper pricing for crowns and DLC's but also the large sales discounts on steam from time to time which can save a lot of money.

However I really don't mind buying ESO again from Steam if only I can transfer all my progress since I don't want to lose all those CP, achievements, researches, & etc.

It is two separate accounts and you can't share characters between those accounts. You can mail things between accounts.

Now, one thing that does reduce the pain is you can use the old account to craft for your new one, just mail the items to the Steam Account.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yeah I've been thinking about that but it's the achievements that I don't want to do again and the grind of levels/CP since I don't have much time to re-do it all over again, also the purchased items from crown store.

As long as you were not changing platforms you should be okay. If you are on na or e u p c you should have the same progress regardless of steam or non Steam. I've never tried myself but you're playing on the same megaserver

It's two separate ACCOUNTS... a PC account and a Steam account are not linked and cannot be accessed from the other.

If you got ESO from Steam previously, look at the list of your games (I forgot the page they're listed on) that you purchased from Steam. If it's there, just download and reinstall it. Doesn't cost anything.

I got into a real problem because I left ESO two years ago. Thinking I wasn't coming back, I destroyed my account name, login, and password.

Coming back, there was no way to contact anyone without the account name. I finally managed, but it was a problem.

After three weeks, I convined Support that it was my original account, and they reactivated it. So, now, I was playing some low level characters (through Steam), and suddenly, my two cp characters, plus the others I had started (I love alts) were available. But, not through Steam. I had to purchase Morrowind through the store (not Steam). Well, it was a real pain.

For info, in Steam the basic game download was 79 GB, from the store, the basic game download was 59 GB. Then 41 GB of patches and other things. I have DSL, and average 1 GB per hour, so that 100 GB download took 100 hours sigh.

    Good luck.
