Weapon Leveling

I am at level 5 as such I have only one bar.
I am DW now and but would like to have 2H also at level 15.
If I slot a 2H skill (wrecking blow) also now in my bar, will this level my 2H skill also eventhough I have only two swords equipped ?

the more skills you slot the more you lvl them, altough the difference doesnt seem linear? It seems also one big lviing plus comes also when you have the weapon that you level actually equipped... what you can also do is have a lot of 2h skills on the back bar that you get at 15 together with a 2h weapon and just switch to that when you hand in quests.... during the lvling process, quests give some of the highest xp

But remember it is good to level up the class lines for passives as well. Can only do so much. The early skills in weapon lines are achieved pretty fast.
