Why is the Clownfear so terrible?

I would really like to know why the Clownfear is so terrible. You give it commands and it says "f--k off master". You give the bear commands on the warden and it goes "Rawr yes sir! Right away sir!". Whatever they did to the AI of the Bear could they please do it for the Clownfear, so that some day it could actually be a Clanfear.

The clanfear is designed as a heal for it's ability on activation. It heals itself and the sorc at the same time. The other morph, volatile familiar, probably puts the bear to shame.

Just go with the Imp, Cast and forget while it blows up everyone around you; I love it on an AOE build.

This, the clanfear also taunt well making it very good as tank then soloing dungeons.
Taunt will not work if other than you hit enemy so it for solo use only.

The scamp does damage more than the bear and don't take up two ultimate slots.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

All fair points - but the clownfear is more for your stamina builds as you level up until you can get something better. Volatile familiar is fantastic if you're magic build though. In all fairness I'm not such a big fan of pets, even the ones that work semi-right like the Bear.

Unsure why you would say its for stamina builds, it's a strong personal heal and as above your own mini tank, good for levelling too. Even as a one pet build its a good option.

Most would say Clanfear pwns the bear for general usefullness, there was even a poll earlier today on that point

The clownfear has a tendency to not follow commands. That is my basis. The clownfear tends to just run about attacking everything within a 20 mile radius whether you like it or not. I can get the bear to calm down - a bear - but an intelligent daedra just goofily runs about pissing everything off in sight. Please don't misunderstand me I like the heal and the taunt but they aren't as effective if the thing won't follow commands and attack what you want it to and stop running off attacking things that are in different zip codes.

I wish if clannfear was able use takedown jump ability of Shadowrend boss from Bannished Cells as active ability instead of healing of sorcerer he can still heal self by chewing target during takedown, if not possible to make him jump then make him charge like enemy clannfears do.

Why? Because having both clannfear and matriarch as healer is redundant, clannfear is not your nurse, he is vicious beast and hunter, they never heal anyone but they jump like velociraptor on they prey, they known for ferocity during hunt.

In gameplay reason, clannfear will become opposite to scamp as he will do single target damage instead of AOE and I really don't mind if it will become stamina morph and do physical damage with his jump.

Pets in ESO are total garbage. The AI needs a complete rework. Something they could do in the meantime is give the Clannfear a gap closer ability and make the "attack" command actually work.

I wonder if those saying the Clannfear runs around are attacking everything are aware the all pets will now attack whichever enemy you heavy attack... so if you're commanding the Clannfear to attack one enemy and then using heavy attack on another, the Clannfear will leave the 'commanded' enemy and attack the one you heavy attacked.

Clanfear is for leveling and for soloing stuff. its your personal healer / tank,
Note that unlike other pets it holds agro if you solo unless its knocked down or similar.
it will not work well in groups as it only hold agro if nobody else than you hit enemy.

It only heal you and himself, for an healer build use the twilight.

The scamp is your dps pet, it does far more damage than the bear and works very well with prey.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

I just want to point out that I have a lot fewer problems with Winged Twilight and the Bear. I'm aware of heavy attacks. I'm aware of Y+left or Y+right. The problem I am describing is that Clownfear doesn't care what you tell him to do, he does his own thing. He's like a honey badger.

I don't use the Clanfear, but my Twilight Matriarch was awesome until Morrowind patch. Now enemies run right past me to attack her. It screws up my AoEs and is, frankly, infuriating.

My solution is: Ditch Summoning when my skills are levelled up enough to make it possible to do so.

The Morrowind patch really screwed up those of us that rely on a pet tank. They changed all the AI for the clannfear and the warden bear.

I never, in two years, had a problem with the clannfear attacking who he wanted to. I told him to tank someone, and that's what he would do.

Now, heavy attacks will pull him off the assigned enemy, and if you have a group with several enemies, he'll stop and run to the enemy you're heavy attacking, then if you rotate to another enemy, he goes there.

Also, when you use the Left click Y command to attack an enemy, the enemy now runs halfway to you, whereas before that distance was much smaller. So, now the enemy is halfway to you already, and one errand attack and they're on you.
