Returned to ESO after a break. Is 5 spinner, 5 Lich and 2 infernal guardian is still a viable PvP build for magsorc? If not, what sets should I be farming for?

✭It depends on your playstyle. Spinner is worthless against shields, so other sorcs and mag classes running a shield will be tougher to break through. The sets you listed give no benefit to stam, so you run the risk of being killed from being out of stam and unable to break free. If you're cool with that, no reason to change your setup. It also matters a bit if you play on CP campaigns or no CP Cyrodiil and BGs.
There are several sets you could look into. You could run one of them with a monster set, Willpower jewelry, and vMA weps, or you could run 2 sets if you sacrifice the full monster set.
Sustain sets:
Amberplasm
Shacklebreaker
Alteration Mastery
Lich
Seducer
Damage sets:
Necropotence
Spinners
Julianos
For me, non-pet, I do: Shacklebreaker + Lich
Pet, I do either: Necro + Shacklebreaker
Or Necro + Lich
Depending on how I feel.6
