Unless you go the DoT path, i'ts hard ti keep the sustain.

I experimented with a similar build (mines was Vampire Lord + War Maiden) and the results were similar to yours; you just don't have the survivability to justify two dps light armor sets...
I'm sure your dps is nice (as was mines), but when an opponent is able to survive your alpha attack and hit you back...it doesn't go so well.
IMO, the best choice would be atleast 1 Defensive Set (or atleast make it a Sustain Set) to go along with an Offensive Set of your choice...Unyeilding Bias

if sustain is not the issu but that you just die. Try wizard ripost and then keep julianos or war maiden.0 -
TheDoomsdayMonster✭✭✭✭✭Vampire Lord gear is great for all the Vampiric abilities...I use all 3 of them extensively (Devouring Swarm, Invigorating Drain, and Elusive Mist).
Invigorating Drain is very good with the right gear supporting it (currently I run Combat Physician and Vampire Lord)...
ID gets a damage boost and becomes cheaper because of Vampire Lord; the healing ID provides procs the Combat Physician damage shield...

You need impen on every armorpiece. Then you need to look what you want to wear. More Pressure on enemys reduce the imcoming pressure in 1vs1 and 1vs2 situations and that is important to know. Do you want to play more offensive(light armor) or defensive(heavy armor)?
When you die to much you can rework your skills and try light armor or go with more defensive. I have better results in survivalbility with light armor for example.I run warmaidens and soulshine with atronach mundus and it works pretty well
This is really a nice combo together with valkyns. But you need bufffood for manareg too, that you able to wear dual wield swords and 1H+shield on the backbar
