Been bitten - what now?

I got bitten in the rift, I've been to several wayshrines since and bt had the vampire quest line kick in yet. Am I missing something or is there a delay?

Did you read the scroll at the shrine?

Yes! After you are bitten, you are supposed to read the scroll on the shrine. I always tell people that before I bite them.

Is that the same for if you get bitten by an npc vampire? I managed to hit the camp spawn point at the right time.

Rawl'kha in reapers etc.
