Simple Ideas to Improve Homes

I would like to have a stablemaster in my house, to be able to train my riding skills everyday just by stacking my characters in the house instead of in a town in front of the stable.

I would like to be sent back to my house after I complete a Battleground. So I can continue dueling with my friends for fun while we wait for the difficult queue.

***EDIT AFTER DISCUSSION WITH PEOPLE***

People have asked:

-More Furnishing Space
-Access, from homes, to important features removed from Crown Store NPCs. Guild Bank, Guild Store and Repair.
-Remove the cost of porting out of the home
-Armor wearing mannequin
-Interactable items like Skooma Bong
-The Ability to turn Writs quests

and also can you fix bugs ZOS plz thx

Guild Store / Bank access. Happy to buy for Crowns, i.e. A proper banker. Would.be a game changer.

Right now houses are pointless as there are better hubs to do everything in

I would imagine that ZoS limits these things because it makes one of their gold sinks irrelevant, keeps people in the game for less time and/or makes for an anti-social community. Not saying I agree with that, it's just the stated reason behind these sorts of things in other games.

At the very least, I would like to be able to port out of housing without having to see how high the port penalty is.

Well, what I asked was really simple stuff I don't think it would alter the course of the fixing of the bugs in this game.

    Stablemaster
    Ported back in after Battlegrounds

    and people asked

Guild Bank and Store from NPC Banker in homes
    More furnishing slots
    and armor wearing mannequins

Also, remember that people working on bug fixing are probably not the same working on these type of features.

I agree that repair access from the NPC Merchant in homes would be great too !

I have an idea how to implement this. Make the NPC Banker and Merchant have these additionnal features BUT only in homes ! I would guess that they removed these to discourage bringing an npc merchant to say a grinding session and that would be too easy to just repair yourself.

But in homes you aren't supposed to be limited like that !

In regards to "-remove the cost of porting out of the home" I've had this discussion many times with guildies and we agree it would be appropriate to - at the very least- have a furnishing item that acts as a wayshrine. Similar to how you could hire a carriage driver in the Skyrim hearthfire dlc

I 100% agree with the stable, guild bank/repair, more furnishing slots, mannequins, and more interactables (food, skooma bubblers, beds, books, etc) these are all things I've been wanting since homestead dropped that would make housing a significantly more attractive gold sink

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the ability to accept and turn in writs. Writs and housing sorta go together so this change seems top priority to me, despite all the other changes being fantastic too. It would also decrease the horrid lag in craglorn a bit...

Bankers that allow guild access, Merchants that repair.

    And programmable NPCs please.

Imagine selecting an NPC for your home from a list of available NPCs, then being able to "record" or program a 4 minute loop of activity (using emotes and travel) for that NPC. You assume the role of that NPC for the duration of the programming.

You could have an NPC that is a gardener, walking around your estate and stopping to dig holes, crouching to tend to plants etc. Or an NPC that is responsible for cleaning the interior, moving from room to room and pausing to sweep, mix food, sit in a chair to rest, etc. The idea is that you could record a "x" second loop of activity that the NPC would then repeat in an infinite loop.

Yes, potential for abuse exists... Don't know what you would do to prevent that.

I'd also like to see my other characters moving around the house like the programmable NPC idea.

But no hub that has 8 different set crafting stations in the same location like my house does. I'm a guild crafter so being able to port to my house for free is always going to be preferable than say... Queuing to cyrodiil, running to IC, sneaking to whatever station, and getting back out again for that armor master set someone wants. I do not regret for a second spending all those vouchers.

One thing I would really like is to have area chat in homes function like group chat so that the volume is consistent for everyone no matter where they are in the house. This helps when you have visitors pop in and out from multiple guilds when you host a gathering and don't want to to worry about forming a group

Maybe a bit more accurate editor when placing objects ect? Like a snap to feature and an "glowing subtle aura" that indicates when pieces are lined up. And im sure it's been mentioned before but maybe "creative mode" feature that lets us float to place objects at high areas ect?

Would like it if we could make our own home NPCs, on the char creation screen.

So, we could make chefs, bar people and waiters etc..

Could dress them in the various profession costumes, which (ideally) we could dye.

They could then idle, in a way that is suitable for their profession (cooking, polishing glasses and pouring drinks etc.) and could perhaps, also, double as vendors.

Not sure if they could path them around our furnishings?

Would be nice if they could, but even if they just stood there idling, it would be far better than nothing.

I have had less simple dreams, in the past, for a housing DLC, which would include choosing a business type for each of your houses (shop, hotel/bar/restaurant, museum etc.) and decorating them accordingly.

Then, having a mini game, where you hire staff and do weekly quests to pay them and your bills and so on.

Then customers/guests/visitor NPCs would just wander around, using the facilities and you would be paid, once a week, after you did your housekeeping quest(s).

This payment would help offset the price of furnishings and your time, not making gold, as you decorate.

But, at this point, I would just be fairly grateful for customisable, idling NPCs, you could dress up as a chef, or a maid, or whatever...
